I purchased the Adobe Master Collection and put me back about $3,000. But it is money well spent when you are doing professional applications with it.

The feeware app here would never be of use to me with what I do. Things like video editing using roto scoping techniques and such.

To say that this freeware app is just as good as Photoshop is sooo wrong. It being good for a novice graphic designer maybe, but not the least bit useful for the professional users.

That's just my opinion, and you're entitled to it. :p

The problem is, no one showed me how to use Photoshop.

(Yes, I've heard that there is so much that can be done with it, so it's not a simple show-me-how-to-use-it thing... But someone was supposed to show me the basics, one afternoon while I was in West Palm Beach, but because of how quickly things were moving, that opportunity did not come up.

Is this freeware program really as good as Photoshop? (Then again, I would probably only have used Photoshop for basic things, so even if it isn't as complex, it would probably be good enough for me... Thank you for sharing this.)

I will have to download this. Here's the other thing, though... I need to get a good WYSIWYG program, for web page design. I had previously been using Adobe PageMill 3.0 (despite it being discontinued, years ago), but with this new laptop, it won't install. (It could be because this laptop is 64-bit, or perhaps because it uses Windows Vista... That CD-ROM disc is from almost a decade ago.)

Do you know what is a good equivalent of Adobe PageMill... And is freeware or shareware?

I think that Adobe PageMill 3.0 was replaced by "Adobe GoLive" - but now, people use Dreamweaver, which is also from Adobe. I think I may go ahead and purchase that... But for now, do you know what the best free/shareware WYSIWYG web design software is?

Thanks, once again, for sharing this art program, and keep up the good work, with your weblog.
