The more I think about what Specter said on Face the Nation, the more I think maybe Arlen is losing his mind. His comments that "conservatives came from all over the country to defeat him in the primary" is ludicrous. How can he say that when he knows that President Bush and Sen Santorum ACTIVELY SUPPORTED Specter and literally won the election for him!
There were ads on radio and TV by Bush for weeks before the primary asking all republicans to vote for Specter (Bush said, "I need Specter"). This was great support, he won because of it. Yet Arlen failed to mention this. In fact he made his "they were trying to defeat me" point TWICE.
Think about it, why would someone whine that people were out to get him, when just the opposite occurred?
I'm worried about Specter, I don't think he can be trusted and I'm leaning towards stopping him from getting the Judiciary Chair.

If you're worried about Arlen Specter, you should be. Michelle Malkin and Chuck Muth both call him "Snarlin' Arlen," because he is vindictive and very likely has a long memory. Fortunately, he's so old now that this might likely be his last term in the Senate.
The next-in-line candidate for the Judiciary Committee chairmanship is Senator John Kyl (R-AZ). He is not just a team player, but one full of great ideas about how to advance a conservative agenda in a Constitutional manner. Among other things, he drafted a position paper that calls for clipping the wings of the national judiciary, as is within the power of Congress under Article Three of the Constitution. We call this "court stripping," and such a measure might save *a lot* of time trying to get Constitutional amendments proposed and ratified.
