And I thought I was educated! I guess I was just ejukaytid. This was a new poem to me. I love your former student's version, too!

I just read this book, too, and loved it. Did you read it aloud to your students?

Thanks, Joan and Ruth,
Ruth, my usual "Ruth" commenter is my mother, so you almost got called Mama! (I found myself in a bit of hot water once for being somewhat familiar with a visitor I assumed to be my sister!) I try to read aloud to my students a little every day. I only have 10-15 minutes of homeroom at the end of the day to do that but I manage it most days. I also have an awkward little five or ten minutes with a different class just before we wash up for lunch when I often read an appetizer from a different book each time.

Hi,
Thanks for your response. I answer to Mom a lot of the time.
I read aloud to my students, too, but I just wondered about this book. It seemed that some of it was pretty visual and I didn't know how it would work as a read-aloud. Maybe I'll follow your lead and just read a bit of it.

I haven't heard this poem or read the book. I'll have to check it out. I love Kylee's poem! Cute twist!
