I would've been there snickering with your student teacher and the speech teacher.

Yep. I wonder what my face looked like at the moment of realization? A video would have been entertaining. Could've been a YouTube hit.

I love it! I am just amazed that the students didn't catch on - then you really would have had something to deal with!

Once when I was in college, a fellow student related how a buxomely attractive, pantsuit-attired female instructor, back to the room, had misspelled "astrophysics" on the board. One "s" too many.
You clearly know how the poor woman felt as snickers turned to howling laughter. Thanks for sharing and for obviously being able to share a laugh at your own slip-up. It bespeaks self-confidence and a bigness of spirit.

Oh, that is too funny! It reminds me of a time when I was being observed by my principal while teaching a 5th grade class. We were studying adjectives that follow linking verb. I was talking and writing on the board at the same time. I wrote, "Johnny's shirt is yellow and green." At least that's what I INTENDED to write. My principal gave me a smile and a little wave indicating something was wrong. I looked at the board and noticed I had left the r out of shirt. Some of the 5th graders were stifling laughs and the others were looking around trying to figure out why they should be laughing. There's never a dull moment in the classroom, is there?
