Homeschoolers are willing to jump on board if we are given clear instructions. I think this year I heard more about the Great Backyard Bird Count in homeschooling circles than I ever have. It just takes time and easy to use websites to get us motivated.
Let us know if you here of any specifics on the lepidopteran project.

Thanks for sharing your info you got from the conference. I wish I could have been there! I love Helen, GA and think it would have been the perfect spot to learn this information. (I also love all the hiking opportunities there.)

Helen is a great place for conference like that. I hope you continue to post about the conference in coming weeks. I see you submited to the ed. carnival....there's another one called a teacher's life that focuses on lesson plan types of things in case you weren't aware.
The outdoors is the perfect place to give our students the hands-on opportunties they need at every level from K-12.
