Hello, Alyson. I wish somebody would walk around my town with a plastic leg. I consider it a public service.

i once had a homeless man pee on my car while I waited at a light on Princeton. Good times.
Hey - I will be in Orlando for business in a few weeks. Want to meet up or can you suggest good yarny places since I haven't lived there since pre-knitting and when I was home last for a significant amount of time it was for dying dad and there was no yarn time. lots of knitting time - but I had brought all that with me.

I live in this really weird gated community in the middle of the city. It's the kind of place where people are always outside because it kind of feels like a college dorm complex. So, every day when I'm running around, taking pictures of my knitting, people look at me like I'm nuts and sometimes even ASK me why the hell I'm taking so many pictures of a sock.

I've seen some pretty funny things in downtown Orlando... Still, I'm pretty sure that someone has a picture of you with the leg on their camera phone. You know, to show they aren't crazy...
How I wish I could have seen that!

Haha, thats hilarious. I wish I had a plastic leg-model. Sure would make taking pictures of socks easier.

What's worse is that it also sounded completely normal to me too.. clearly the person with the leg was taking sock photos.. hee hee.
I'm used to getting strange looks for my knitting/blogging antics.. just like when I endured a 5 minute staring contest with my husbands grandfather when I asked for metal hangers so I could make 'sock blockers' for my knitted socks.

You are so funny! I love it that you're walking around taking pics of knitterly stuff (with partial body- part-models). You rock! And you make me feel better, as I race outside to catch the light to photo some of my knitting, while my neighbors stare on.......
