Can't say that I have any experience with babies either... but my BSJ that I thought was WAAAAAAAYYYYYY to small for any child, turned out to be perfect for a newborn. So, I'm sure it'll be fine. And, as I've been told by many mothers, even if it doesn't fit they're treasure it anyway. Not sure I believe that... but whatev.
