Sounds like an anal gland rupture to me! I worked for 10 years as a vet tech before becoming a "people nurse" so I saw lots of those. So sorry Bitty (and you) are going through all of that. If I can answer any questions for you or help just let me know! Hope he gets to feeling better SOON!

De-lurking here (already did before on Etsy!) to say that I am so sorry about the surgery... we'll do anything for our pets of course, but it can get expensive. Bitty will be ok, hang in there!

Oh, poor little sweetie...
I met you in real life, so I feel completely justified in doing this: *HUGS*.
I hope that your little one is home soon from the vet, healthy as a horse and ready to soak up all the love you've got stored up for her. It's hard when they're sick, I mean after all, these are your babies in lieu of human ones, TRUST ME. I grew up in "crazy pet people" house. I know how it goes. They look at you with those big moist eyes and you just melt.
I almost melted with the last picture there myself.

Aw, no...does your Kind and Friendly allow a payment plan? 'Cause man, when it's a furry of tender years with a prognosis of good health afters, we does what we does. My precious Evangeline had to have some teeth out(with my dental phobia I think the whole thing was worse for me) and it was spendy, but she's only four and we Made Arrangements. She's fine now, money well-spent. I'll do my version of praying too (it worked really well for my diabetic asthmatic friend who got pneumonia and is now happily home) and I'll be thinking merriment in your direction for her Comin' Home day. And yes, it's tough on the sibpups, to whom you can't really explain the whole thing. Only a few days left of November; better times ahead. (And hey, you - BOT o' youse - there's no way you could've known; there are stoic animules who don't let on. Don't despair over all that - it's gone and done and past. AN extra little nosh and she'll forget she ever felt crummy!)

Oh no! Poor little sweetheart! About a year ago, we found out that one of our cats needed to have his teeth removed. As in, all of them. He was in a lot of pain, but he was young and the vet said after the surgery he'd be like a new cat. My biggest concern was him being in pain (bad cat mom! Why didn't I notice sooner?) but when I got the estimate, holy schnikes. But you have to do what you have to do so we scheduled the surgery and by far the worst part was leaving him...at least until we got the bill which was *several* hundred dollars OVER the original "worst case scenario" estimate which was pretty freaking high to begin with. I'm still paying it off. Oh, those pets!
