history of Prophet Muhammad from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah (also spelled Mohammed or Muhammed) (ca. 570 Mecca - June 8, 632 Medina), is the foundation of the religion of Islam and is regarded as Muslims as a mesenger and prophet of God (Arabic: Allah), the last and the greatest law-bearer in a series of prophets. Muslims consider him the restorer of the uncorrupted original monotheistic faith (Islam) of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and other prophets. He was also active as a diploma, merchant, philosopher, orator, legislator, reformer, military, general, and, according to Muslim belief, an agent of divine action.
It is mentioned above that Prophet Muhammad is regarded to be the messenger and prophet of God, the last and the greatest law-bearer in a series of prophet. As he is the last law-bearer in a series of prophet, it is rational for moderate Muslims to accept that the Holy Quran to be the only source that is reliable for meditation and it is not justifiable for anyone to use the words from other muslims, especially the words from muslim extremists, in replacement of the words from Allah.
Born in 570 CE in the Arabian city of Mecca, he was orphaned at a young age and brought up under the care of his uncle Abu Talib. He later worked mostly as a merchant, as well as shepherd, and was first married by age 25. Discontented with life in Mecca, he retreated to a cave in the surrounding mountains for meditation and reflection. According to Islamic beliefs it was here, at age 40, in the month of Ramadan, where he received his first revelation from God.
According to Muslim tradition, Muhammad's wife Khadija was the first to believe he was a prophet. She was soon followed by Muhammad's ten-year-old cousin ali ibn Abi Talib, close fiend Abu Bakr, and adopted son Zaid.
From the above statements, it is obvious that Prophet Muhammad actively involved in preaching the message of Allah and that caused his wife to be the first to become Muslim. After the conversion to Muslim by his wife, his friend, his close friend and adopted son, were lately to be converted to Muslims as well. At that time when Prophet Muhammad received the revelation from Allah, he did not slaughter his wife, friend and adopted son since they were not Muslims at all in the beginning. Prophet Muhammad was willing to spare his time to reach out to the pagans and that lead to the conversions to muslims one to be followed by another. For instance, if Prophet Muhammad was a selfish and cruel man, he would simply hide the message of Allah from his close firiend and his adopted son without showing mercy to reach out to them so as to patiently wait for their repentance to become muslims since they were not muslims initially at all.
Three years after this event Muhammad started preaching these revelations publicly, proclaiming that 'God is One', that complete 'surrender' to him (lit islam) is the only way (din) acceptable to God, and th

The following are the extracts from Prophet Muhammad, The Most influential man in history, from the book of Michael Hart:
My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the world's most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular levels. Of humble origins, Muhammad founded and promulgated one of the world's great religions, and became an immensely effective political leader. Today, thirteen centuries after his death, his influence is still powerful and pervasive. The majority of the persons in this book had the advantage of being born and raised in centers of civilization, highly cultured or politically pivotal nations. Muhammad, however, was born in the year 570, in the city of Mecca, in southern Arabia, at that time a backward area of the world, far from the centers of trade, art, and learning. Orphaned at age six, he was reared in modest surroundings. Islamic tradition tells us that he was illiterate. His economic position improved when, at age twenty-five, he married a wealthy widow. Nevertheless, as he approached forty, there was little outward indication that he was a remarkable person. Most Arabs at that time were pagans, who believed in many gods. There were, however, in Mecca, a small number of Jews and Christians; it was from them no doubt that Muhammad first learned of a single, omnipotent God who ruled the entire universe. When he was forty years old, Muhammad became convinced that this one true God (Allah) was speaking to him, and had chosen him to spread the true faith. For three years, Muhammad preached only to close friends and associates. Then, about 613, he began preaching in public. As he slowly gained converts, the Meccan authorities came to consider him a dangerous nuisance. In 622, fearing for his safety, Muhammad fled to Medina (a city some 200 miles north of Mecca), where he had been offered a position of considerable political power. This flight, called the Hegira, was the turning point of the Prophet's life. In Mecca, he had had few followers. In Medina, he had many more, and he soon acquired an influence that made him a virtual dictator. During the next few years, while Muhammad's following grew rapidly, a series of battles were fought between Medina and Mecca. This was ended in 630 with Muhammad's triumphant return to Mecca as conqueror. The remaining two and one-half years of his life witnessed the rapid conversion of the Arab tribes to the new religion.
The above are the extracts purely from the histroy of Prophet Muhammad and I did not alter any sentence by any means. From the above statement, we know that Allah spoke to him when he was 40 years old. For three years, preached only to close friends & associates. Then about 613, he began preaching in the public. As we know Allah Spoke to Muhammad at the age of 40 years old and he did not slaughter any pagans despite the pagans tha

I extract herewith the history of Prophet Muhammad as below (The words in bold as italic are words extracted from an article, Funk & Wagnalis - New Encyclopedia - 2005 World Alamanic Education Group):
In Muhammad's time (c. 570-632), the Arabian Peninsula was inhabited by nomadic Bedouins engaged in herding and brigandage, and by city-dwelling Arabs engaged in trade. The religion of the Arabs was polytheistic and idolatrous. Nonetheless, an old tradition of monotheism, or at least a belief in a supreme deity, existed. Jewish and Christian communities probably contributed to a growing receptivity to monotheistic doctrines, although Judaism nor Christianity proved attractive to the Arabs. A number of monotheistic preachers preceded Muhamad but had little success.
My explanation: From the above statement, we could come to the conclusion that Arabs were surrounded by pagans.
Muhammad began his ministry at the age of 40, when, he claimed, the archangel Gabriel appeared to him in a vision. Muhammad confided to his family and close friends the substance of this and succeeding visions. After four years he had converted some 40 persons to his views, and he thena began to preach openly in his native city of Mecca. Ridiculed by the Meccans, he went in 622 to Medina. Muhammad soon held both temporal and spiritual authority, having been recognized as a lawgiver and prophet. Arab and Jewish opposition to him in Medina was crushed, and war was undertaken against Mecca. Increasingly, Arab tribes declared their allegiance to him, and Mecca surrendered in 630. At his death, in 632 Muhammad was the leader of an Arab state growing rapidly in power.
My explanation: It is mentioned above that Prophet Muhammad met an angel at the age of 40. After receiving the message from an angel, Gabriel, he did not slaughter all his surrounding pagans one by one. Instead, it is mentioned that Muhammad confided to his family and close friends about the visions. Or in other words, he began to preach the message from Allah to them. After four years of his preaching, there were about 40 muslim converts. To get 40 muslim converts within four years such a long period, we could imagine how mericul that Prophet Mufhammad was. He wanted the pagans to be saved and that was he involved actively in preaching to the pagans so as to patiently wait for the repentance of the pagans. He was not such a cruel man that liked to slaughter the pagans. Instead, he took time to reach out to the pagans and he's got 40 muslim followers in total within four years. However, muslim extremists mis-interpret that Prophet Muhammad was a cruel man so much so they want to kill the pagans without sharing the message of Allah from the Holy Quran to them.
As mentioned in those words in bold that the Meccans began to ridicule him after four years later when Prophet Muhammad decided to preach openly in his native city of Mecca. Arab and Jewish opposition began to crush him in Medina. Or in other words,

If you refer to the history of Prophet Muhammad, you should have discovered that Prophet Muhammad actively involved in preaching Quran to the Pagans. He did not slaughter the pagans in the first three years of his mission. He preaching to his wife, cousin, friend and associates for their conversions during his first three years. He not only did not kill the pagans, he also did not perform vandalism, riots and/or etc. to the public.
He started to preach to the public after the first three years. The pagans started to persecute him and then he fought back. As you see, he even actively preached after the first three years reaching out to his wife, friends and associates.
His muslim followers began to conquer many places after his death. However, places, like, North America and Spain, in which they went through, there were non-muslims left behind or else these countries would become muslim countries nowadays. As there were non-muslims survived during the war between pagans and muslims, it proves that Allah's message to muslims is to demand non-muslims for their repentance and that he is willing to wait patiently for them to back to Allah.
However, muslim extremists abuse the Holy Quran for violence, havoc, riots &/or etc. I ponder how Allah, Prophet Muhammad and his immediate followers would think of these people that abused Quran for violence.

We, moderate Muslims fully believe that Allah is the Most Merciful. As Allah is the most Merciful, we, moderate Muslims, believe that Allah wants many non-Muslims to become Muslims and that is why many, moderate Muslims try to use their good conducts and even some approach non-Muslims to share the good news about Holy Quran so that many non-Muslims could repent. If Allah does not require non-Muslims to repent, why should the word, repent, be mentioned in the Holy Quran? Instead, Muslim extremists are violent and they do all sorts of vandalism. They slaughter non-Muslims without sharing the good news about Allah from the Holy Quran. Allah is the most Merciful and is willing to see more non-Muslims to become Muslims. Allah certainly likes Muslims to approach non-Muslims to share the good news about the Holy Quran and yet Muslim extremists have turned the Holy Quran to be violent. Muslim extremists never even apporach non-Muslims to share the good news about Allah from the Holy Quran and yet day by day thinking how to wipe off non-Muslims from the earth.
I do not pity for those Muslim extremists since they act against what Allah, the most holy and the most merciful. I only pity those non-Muslims that have died in their hands without anybody showing the right path and telling the truth from the Holy Quran about Allah.
Allah calls us in the Holy Quiran to do good. We indeed should show good deed to share good news about Allah from the Holy Quran to non-Muslims and yet Muslims slaughter non-Muslims without showing mercy.
When I mention previously spiritual fight to us, I indeed mean to share the good news about Allah from the Holy Quran to non-Muslims so that they might repent. When I convince a non-Muslim to become a Muslim, I find the joy in me that there is one man repents and turn back to Allah. Or in other words, the spiritual battle has won since I save a man from the last judgment day.
From the above explanation as compared to what is mentioned by Plato, certainly Plato is a man that is cruel since he believes that Allah is not the Most Merciful. Plato likes killing and does not like sharing the good news to non-Muslims so that they might become one of us.
Doesn't matter! I will persist to be a moderate Muslim so that many non-Muslims can become Muslims through my sharing of Allah from the Holy Quran and from my right conduct.
When both moderate muslims and muslim extremists stand before Allah, do you think who Allah likes the most. The one that likes to kill and does not like any non-Muslims to repent or those that take time to share good news from the Holy Quran so as many non-Muslims would become Muslims.
