What I don't understand, is how the Muhammad cartoons row reflects on Denmark's freedom of the press record. The death threats were not issued by the danish government. I mean, it has to be clear what motivates a ranking: is it a government's attitude to freedom of the press within its borders, is it random attacks on the freedom of the press of a given country from any source whatsoever, or is it a bit of both?
