I remember from my childhood, when I met a man from Pakistan. I was staying with a family here in the Midwest. This guy gave me, an orphan he would not see again, a pair of men's shoes from his country.
This helped form my opinion of the Pakistani mindset. Of course, my position in life lead to the gift, as no one else received such a gift, a personal item that is worn. He appoligized for giving a man's shoe, wishing he had something of a more feminine nature.
For me, I ask, "What kind of person would commit a suicidal action like the one killing a prominent political figure and those in her proximity" For me, it would be a person, who wishes to give of himself in order to help others.
Such, it seems, is the reality for our world today. So determined are some of us, that we are seen as a great harm to others. Thus, is why the rest of us care. Thus is why we open up our hearts and words.
My wish and hope is for those with influence and mass appeal, those placed where all can see will learn about the orphan, the abused and the hungy; that they will learn on a personal level.
Maybe this is why she was killed. Knew too much?
Interesting stuff, nolo. Osama dead? But then, the only people who would want Ms. Bhutto killed for telling that are those profiting from the Osama myth. As far as I can tell, that would be Musharraf and Bush. And maybe not as much Bush as I tend to believe. Too bad the interview didn't get picked up here - I'd like to hear the Bushies dance around this one.
One has to wonder - the Pakistani people are told they have to live under military rule to protect them from India. But when 1500 or so Pakistani troops get their asses kicked repeatedly by about 200 hill fighters (every time they've tried to 'find Osama' or take on the Taliban), it would seem that the military there isn't much protection at all.
Its kind of like our fight against 'terrorists' in Iraq - at the rate our guys are 'winning' we'd damned sure better hope that every one of those million illegal aliens coming from Mexico every year is really latino and not some arabs sneaking in. I think America could win that war, but this administration sure isn't capable of it.
