I would think that the Iranian President would be negligent in not advancing any and every means for Iran to defend itself against attack (including deterrent) from those making threats to it. If they didn't have a program then they would be quite justified in having one now given the conduct of the Americans and their Israeli masters.
Iran is not engaged in any nuclear weapons program, Iran is busy setting up nuclear electricity production, as an alternative to hydrocarbons.

The international acquiescense to sanctions on Iran is a testament to the servility of the international community. But to whom are they servile? Ray McGovern stated today on INN World Report that only an idiot would see a US interest in sanctions on Iran. I guess then that we need to examine just how it is that practicly the entire world is dominated by people for whom Israeli interests come first and at any cost.
That's right, Iran stopt the american imposed nuclear program in 1979 when the Shah fled to his home plate usa.

To which I would add: the answer is UN Resolution 242, unanimously passed passed by the Security Council 40 years ago and never implemented. "For a just and lasting peace" it required Israel to withdraw from the occupied territories and it's neighbours to recognise Israel and respect it's borders. To this day that is the only fair and just solution to the problem.

This NIE report is embarrassing for the U.S. and for all of the Presidential Hopefuls who should have known about it and start questioning why the President of the United States has held this information back? From what I know this NIE report was sent back for revisions at the request of VP Cheney several times. He was uncomfortable with the information provided. I will definitely not buy off on the fact that Pres. Bush just recently found out about this last Tuesday.

So Bush is once again using this report to save face, and still increase the fear that Iran is a threat. If it once had a nuclear weapons program it can always restart it again!! So in effect this NIE report may stall a potential attack, but I personally don't think it will remove Iran as a target?

Obviously the zio-cons aren't entirely popular with the well informed analysts who don't share the "chosen" thing. These people have seen many of their own terminated for lack of compliance. Imagine any workplace situation like this, there are consequences. Cheney did hector them for almost a year to produce a fraudulent report. A report had to be released. Finally the zio-cons had to move on and they will try to press their warmongering some other way.
I agree with Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich about the NIE report. Many, including anti-war groups, are gobbling it up like it is some kind of a cure for stopping the war mongers. The report has much misinformation, holes and plenty of wiggle room for the warmongers.
It seems that many in the anti-war groups want to hold onto any crumbs that they can get since they are concerned about political correctness and have been paralyzed by the infiltration of "leftist" Zionists.

Your suspicion may be correct. Not only "mass resignations" threat, Fallon's remarks about putting the "crazies back in the box" may have had something to do with it.
Fallon's refusal to support a further naval buildup in the Gulf reflected his firm opposition to an attack on Iran and an apparent readiness to put his career on the line to prevent it. A source who met privately with Fallon around the time of his confirmation hearing and who insists on anonymity quoted Fallon as saying that an attack on Iran "will not happen on my watch".

One of the most plausible explanations I have read about the Bush regime's invasion of Iraq to be followed by invading Iran is that by having complete control of what would be the world's largest portion of petrol, they'd also be able, through control of petrodollar, to maintain a high demand for US $ currency...so business as usual would continue, and the immensely over-inflated dollar would carry on. Of course, Israeli agenda would be implemented, too. Iraq "had to be" invaded regardless of falsehood of the pretext. The plan didn't work out as expected, but Israel which utterly lacks decency hasn't given up, and through its agents, AIPAC, etc., wants America to bomb Iran at a cost to the American public. I hope this will be another act of urination against the wind.
P.S. I also got my mouth washed out with homemade soap for saying hell; actualy I just had to bite it. Grandparents did things like that back then.

"U.S. offers grants to help oppose clerics"

Like the color-coded terror alert system, the Technicolor Velvet Invasions blink warning. Despite receiving an ugly bruise in Uzbekistan, the CIA and its NGO regime change industry hope to stage another cardboard coup in Iran. But it could be a Black & Blue Revolution.
Citing a 'mission accomplished' in Iraq, President Bush told 25,000 soldiers in Fort Hood, Texas; "The establishment of a free Iraq is a watershed event in the global democratic revolution. That success is sending a message from Beirut to Tehran."
Tasked by the Bush administration with sending that message from America to Tehran, and "winning hearts and minds" is 'swift boat veteran' author Jerome Corsi. On May 16, Corsi's NGO The Iran Freedom Foundation, inaugurated a 12 day "Iran Freedom Walk" from Philadelphia's Liberty Bell to Washington, D.C.
Dipping two fingers in red paint, Corsi waved a peace sign in solidarity "with the blood of oppressed Iranians" and called on "the spirit of Mahatma Ghandi and Martin Luther King." He declared; "I love the Iranian people. America does not hate the Persian people. We love the Persian people. We want peace and we love the Persian people." Corsi's voice then hushed to a whisper; "We stand here today and we pray in the name of the Gods. I embrace Jesus Christ as my savior- and we also pray in the name of Allah, Zoroaster, and the B'hai."
• Comparing Islam to a disease
But Corsi has expressed very different opinions on Islam in the past. According to his own postings on FreeRepublic.com, on November 18, 2001 Corsi used a racial slur to define Arabs; "Rag heads are Boy-Bumpers [sodomizers] as clearly as they are Women Haters- it all goes together." In November 2002, Corsi said; "They think the liberals will never let out that these two were lovers... typical Islamic boy-buggering. Older man with younger man- black Muslims..." Using the incendiary style he perfected for 'swiftboat veteran' TV attack ads, Jerome Corsi continued; "Islam is a peaceful religion as long as the women are beaten, the boys buggered, and the infidels killed." Comparing Islam to a disease, he added; "How's this for an analogy? The Koran is simply the "software" for producing deviant cancer cell political behavior and violence in human beings" and "Islam is like a virus. It affects the mind. Maybe even better as an analogy: it is a cancer that destroys the body it infects. No doctor would hesitate to eliminate cancer cells from the body." In April, 2004 Corsi added; "Let's see why it isn't the case that Islam is a worthless, dangerous, satanic religion. Where's the proof to the contrary?"
Surrounding Corsi at his 'Freedom Walk' were three dozen Los Angeles Iranian dissidents and pro-monarchists interviewed by an Orthodox Jewish journalist and by the CIA-backed Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Farda. The Los Angeles Times of March 20, 2005 revealed that 'Tehrangeles' has become a crucial recruiting ground for Iranian expatriates who gather information for the U.S. intelligence community. Also providing assistance are various Farsi language media who broadcast messages against the Iranian government into Iran.
According to the March 4, 2005 Los Angeles Times, the U.S. currently spends $14.7 million a year on Farsi "opposition broadcasts" into Iran. The Voice of America's Farsi service reaches an estimated 15 million Iranians with news programs and websites, and the Bush administration has recently requested an additional $5.7 million in 2006 to expand the hours of transmission.
• CIA's 1953 overthrow of Iran's Mossadeq
Los Angeles Farsi radio station KRSI noted the similarity between current U.S. efforts and the CIA's 1953 overthrow of Iran's democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadeq. When asked if he was CIA affiliated, Corsi claimed; "No I'm not. I've never held a government position, never had any government position at all. I've been in universities. I'm an author. I'm in business. I'm not related to the CIA. It's just not true."
But when later asked how he became so committed to Iranian liberation, he said; "When I was a young man I was an expert in antiterrorism and political violence. I had a top secret clearance when I was in universities and I worked to assist the State Department and the government." Corsi's publisher, Cumberland House, states in his biography that Corsi's top secret clearance came from the government agency USAID. USAID has often served as a conduit for American covert operations funding, under humanitarian auspices.
This writer then asked Corsi about the Iran Freedom Foundation's funding. He said the money came from sales of his book "Atomic Iran" and from private donations, adding that the IFF would apply for government funding when it became available.
That government funding may be on the way. On February 11, 2005 a promoter of the Iran Freedom Foundation, Worldnetdaily.com announced that Corsi had helped Republican Senator Rick Santorum write the Iran Freedom and Support Act of 2005. The legislation was to authorize $10 million in assistance to pro-democracy NGOs that challenge the Iranian regime. Corsi called that figure a "starting point."
It was an accurate projection. According to the May 5, 2005 Financial Times article "U.S. offers grants to help oppose clerics," Guy Dinmore reported that lawmakers demanded a bill aimed at overthrowing the Iranian government be increased to $50 million. This did not include the millions of dollars provided by the State Department's Middle East Partnership Initiative. "We have turned opposition into a profession," commented Ray Takeyh of the Council on Foreign Relations. "This money is going to go up."
Such "soft power" opposition activities are escalating. In May 29, the New York Times quoted R. Nicholas Burns, under secretary of state for political affairs, as saying the Bush team was "taking a page from the playbook" of colored revolutions where the U.S. funded pro-democracy NGOs helped nonviolently overthrow noncompliant governments.
The Iran Freedom Foundation lists several such activities on its website. Corsi's book "Atomic Iran" is being translated into Farsi for clandestine distribution in Iran, there is an online petition targeting the mullahs, IFF university associations are mobilizing college students, and a national speakers bureau to educate Americans on Iranian alleged “atrocities” has been deployed. The IFF is also filming a documentary and has begun running TV ads entitled; "An Atomic 9-11: When Evil is Appeased" accusing Iran of plans to detonate a 150 kiloton nuclear bomb in New York City. According to Israeli Knesset documents, Corsi was formerly with the Israel Atomic Energy Commission, and when I reminded Corsi that it was the U.S. who began Iran's nuclear program in the 1970s, and that Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld sat on the board of ABB (which sold North Korea its nuclear reactors in the 1990's), he refused to comment.
The IFF's efforts are supplemented by an array of related sister organizations such as Regime Change Iran, Alliance for Democracy in Iran, Iran of Tomorrow Movement, The Iran Accountability Project, The Initiative for Democratic Change in Iran, the Iranian Opposition Council, and "The 70 Million People of Iran" who were organizing an election for a secular interim government in exile "ready to assume Iran's governmental functions by June 10, 2005". The group had also issued an ultimatum letter to world leaders, demanding they void all contracts with Iran by June 16. (Halliburton contracts in Iran were not mentioned). This small U.S.-backed group, presuming to speak for 70 million Iranians, even borrowed State Department lingo urging "the removal of the Islamic Republic to win the 'War on Terror'."
Corsi's IFF has also endorsed the Free Iran Project, an enterprise created by Reagan Doctrine policy architect Dr. Jack Wheeler. In January 2005, Wheeler advocated that President Bush use nuclear weapons to destroy Mecca if America is hit by another terrorist attack. Wheeler bragged on his website "To The Point" that Osama Bin Laden is "playing poker with a Texas cowboy holding all the nuclear aces."
The goal of these strategies, Corsi announced at his event, was to incite mass protests against Iran's June 17th presidential elections and thus destabilize the regime. Iranian dissident Ghassem Sholeh Sadi agreed. In the NY Sun article, "Iranian dissidents asking aid from Bush," Sadi explained; "After the events in Kyrgystan, there is an idea to try to turn the elections into a referendum and uprising."
As early as 2003, Reuters printed allegations that the U.S. had infiltrated several million dollars into the country to bribe officials and pay protestors.

Economist of June 13, 2003 headlined; "More unrest on the streets of Tehran. Is America pulling the strings?" America is pulling strings, with Israeli assistance. We should insist that if Bush wants Iran to provide full disclosure of all its past nuclear activities then he must also require the same from Israel.
That's one way to make constructive use of the claim that Iran actually had a weapons program. If only someone credible, with a high news profile, would speak to the issue... A Democratic presidential candidate? Not likely, though it would be one way for Kucinich to get more coverage.

The latest report is a 140-page document with a 9-page summary, the first line of which begins: “We judge with high confidence that in fall 2003, Tehran halted its nuclear weapons program.”
Suddenly all those intelligence agencies are invalid—even though they are headed by Bush people, including retired admiral John McConnell, who Bush installed as supreme director of U.S. intelligence in Jan 2007.

The chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff will visit Israel next week to discuss Iran.
Adm. Michael Mullen will make a 24-hour visit to Israel early next week as a guest of his Israeli counterpart, Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, Yediot Achronot reported Thursday.
Mullen will be briefed about Israel's intelligence estimates regarding the Iranian nuclear program, a response to a U.S. report that this week said Iran shelved its quest for an atomic bomb in 2003.
Israel is keen to preserve Western pressure on Tehran in the wake of the National Intelligence Estimate report. Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni plans to discuss the matter with the foreign ministers of NATO countries when they convene Friday at the alliance's Brussels headquarters.
Mullen's visit to Israel will be the first by a Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman in nearly a decade

What i hope to bring to the forefront of conscious is the true powers behind the scenes, which is the international bankers the hold the strings over all nations and working to impliment a true world government. Look beyond the squabbling. Zionist, Neocons, Communist, Socialist, ect. Look to the roots and cause. These groups are controlled by the few elite that control most of what we know. To continue fighting over these "powers" is a distraction from the real problem, the international bankers, who have the final say. Some say Zionist is who they are, others mention Illuminati... but i feel all these terms are subclasses of the greater umbrella of the bankers. To cut them off from power within each nation through their centralized banks working against each nation should be the prime goal. It's over, folks. Comfort, apathy, and ignorance, together with delusive news media and a graft-ridden Congress, have allowed a cabal of crackpots to put an end to the experiment in democracy that once was the United States.
Iran has had a nuclear programme since the days of the Shah. Then, the Soviet Union was problem no 1. Today Iran is surrounded by nuclear powers - Russia, Pakistan, Israel and not least the USA.(The Europeans, India, and China are no real risk).
It could be that Iran did halt (temporarily anyway) its nuclear programme when the Taliban was removed by the US and Iran hoped for a continuation of the resultant detente with the US.
But the Bush administration's refusal to respond to Iranian advances from end 2001, and GWB's gratuitous naming of Iran as part of the Axis of Evil (Jan 2002)would surely have led to second thoughts. And the invasion of Iraq would surely have clinched the argument in favour of restarting the nuclear programme had it really been suspended. For in 2003 Iran was not only sandwiched between two US occupied neighbours, but also a thoroughly hostile US was openly pursuing 'regime change'.
So it is hard to believe this NIE is any more reliable than American intelligence in 2002/3 which credited Saddam with an on-going potentially successful nuclear weapons programme. Which virtually all experts knew to be false.
As everyone knew of Iran's long standing nuclear programme with a weapons option, it is hard to see how this new suggestion that it has been suspended can in anyway help anyone in futher fomenting a rush to war with Iran.
Admittedly this latest NIE is quite astonishing as it cuts the ground from under the war build up. Could the real explanation be that a coterie of politicians, generals, Scowcrofts and Bakers etc. got this out to stymie the
Cheney/Bush build up? Hopefully the other other side of the story is not to incite the Israelis to 'do it yourself'?
Interesting that the much maligned UN inspectors are reportedly far more cautious than the NIE!
This writer tends to the view that Chirac was right - the US invasion of Iraq has messed the whole world scene so badly that it is better simply to accept Iran as a nuclear power if need be. Israel's new and aggressive Iran policy didn't lack critics. An internal government committee concluded in the mid-1990s that Israel's harsh public position on Iran had backfired, caused Israel to unnecessarily make itself a target of Iran and made Tehran's nuclear ambitions appear as an Israeli problem, rather than being a concern of the entire international community. The Rabin-Peres government countered that its aggressive stance had pushed Washington to take on Tehran instead of striking a deal with the Iranian clergy, an argument that was well received even by the Labour government's critics.
This is precisely why NIE is so problematic for Israel's current strategy on Iran. On the one hand, Israel fears U.S.-Iran negotiations since an accommodation between Washington and Tehran most likely would entail a small-scale enrichment programme on Iranian soil. Such a development would significantly shift the balance of power against Israel. Furthermore, Iran's interest in the region would increasingly be viewed as legitimate by Washington, which in turn would exacerbate the problems with the new balance.
On the other hand, to prevent such a scenario from arising in the first place, Israel has felt the need to ring the alarm bells, create political obstacles to a U.S.-Iran dialogue and pressure Washington to keep all options open -- without making itself appear as being on the frontline against Iran.
The NIE has pulled the rug out from under Israel's feet and caused Israel to fail on both counts. The likelihood of U.S.-Iran diplomacy has grown significantly while Israel appears increasingly alone in the world, toeing a hawkish and excessive line on Iran.
But the uncompromising line on Iran was doomed to fail regardless. First, Iran has in the past two years walked through all of Israel's red lines on the nuclear issue -- without facing a robust Israeli response. Instead, the Israeli strategy has been to revise its red lines every time Iran crossed them. This has eroded Israel's credibility.
Secondly, the pressure on Iran was increasingly likely leading to either an Iranian nuclear fait accompli through negotiations with Washington or a military confrontation with Tehran, with unpredictable consequences for Israel. The dangers of war have become increasingly clear to the Jewish state. In the end, all three previous military confrontations in the region -- Afghanistan, Iraq and Lebanon -- have surprisingly ended up benefiting Iran rather than Israel.
A growing number of people in Israel have recognised the folly of its Iran policy. The chessboard has changed but Israel has not adjusted its policy to the new realities. Israel is on auto-pilot, pursuing a policy which ignores the new strategic fundamentals -- Hezbollah's military success last year, the U.S.'s quagmire in Iraq and Iran's irreversible nuclear advances.
Israeli decision-makers have been in a state of strategic paralysis, incapable of recognising the new chessboard and the necessary adjustments they need to make. They have feared recognising publicly that Iran is a rational actor and that even a nuclear Iran wouldn't be an existential threat to the Jewish state, out of fear that such admissions would take pressure off of Washington to act firmly against Iran -- the same argument Peres and Rabin used in the mid-1990s.
Politically, this is understandable. No Israeli leader wishes to be the one to declare to the Israeli public that a critical step in the strategic rivalry with Iran has been lost, even though it was never really winnable.
But some past politicians and decision-makers have started to speak up, arguably to end the strategic paralysis and cut Israel's losses. Shlomo Ben-Ami, Israel's former foreign minister, publicly argues that a U.S.-Iran dialogue could benefit Israel...
The NIE has given these voices of reason in Israel a great boost, helping them turn off the auto-pilot and ending Israel's strategic paralysis. By adjusting its Iran policy to the new strategic realities and putting its weight behind U.S.-Iran negotiations, Israel can still avoid both an Iranian nuclear weapon and a disastrous war with Iran.

I think you are right spirit Sage. Exactly. I would just add that there seems to be indications of growing disharmony within the "elite" or Banker groups. I think someone is getting overly anxious to hit the "button". But, I don't think it will happen (hopefully) because of the obvious in-fighting among the elite. The problem with the in-fighting, for the rest of us, we have no way of knowing if that is to our benefit or detriment. It could go either way... I can see the elite sacrificing a few million of "us" (their own) but I can't see why they would put themselves in danger. They appear to be more afraid than the average Westerner. The West is in decline. Its grasping. The cycle has all but run its course. Unfortunately, there are some of these bankers will grow more and more desperate. In this video I used a song called "The new country" for a very popular Iraqi singer who is Husam AlRasam, it's not a new song, and it was released when I started blogging.
This song is very popular between Iraqis, I can say that more than 80% of Iraqis have it either on their mobile phones or computers.
There is something strange in this song, whenever I hear it I twitch although I've heard it countless times, believe me in Arabic it's much more effective, because the emotions were lost in translation, but I think the images compensates for that loss.

Qods Force and the Iraqi insurgency
Iran began to extend its influence in Iraq immediately after the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime in April 2003. Through the Qods Force, Iran's external wing of the Revolutionary Guards Corps, Iran immediately moved money, weapons, and operatives inside Iraq to influence the various fractured Shia political parties and militias.
Iran worked through various militias such as the Mahdi Army, the Badr Corps, the Qazali Network, the Shebaini Network, and a host of other surrogates to attack Coalition forces, Iraqi Security Forces, and rival political leaders. When groups like the Badr Corps and its political backer the Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq broke from the Iranian sphere of influence and integrated with the government, the Iranian-backed militias, which have since been designated the Special Groups, began attacking them as well.
To streamline operations in Iraq, the Qods Force established a unified command, called the Ramazan Corps, and split Iraq into three roughly geographical regions.
The Ramazan Corps - Qods Force Iraq Command
The picture of Qods Force's command structure and operations in Iraq became clearer since US forces began heavily targeting the Iranian networks in late December 2006. Several high-level Qods Force officers – including Qais Qazali, Azhar al Dulaimi, Ali Mussa Daqduq, and Mahmud Farhadi – have been captured in Irbil, Baghdad, and several unnamed locations.
During these raids, Coalition forces seized computers and computer drives, documentation, journals, and other evidence that reinforced information obtained through the interrogations of the Qods Force officers. While military and intelligence sources would not discuss other methods, communications intercepts and satellite imagery are also likely to play a key role in understanding the Qods Force's activities in Iraq.
Critical information about the structure of the Ramazan Corps comes from the Iranian operatives captured in Iraq. Qais Qazali was the leader of the Qazali Network, which was responsible for several high-profile attacks on US and Iraqi forces. Qais, along with his brother Laith Qazali, and several other members of the Qazali Network were captured in early 2007. Azhar al Dulaimi, also a member of the Qazali network, was the tactical commander behind the attack on the Karbala Provincial Joint Coordination Center, which resulted in the kidnapping and subsequent murder of five US soldiers. Ali Mussa Daqduq, who served as the chief of guard to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and was the commander of Hezbollah's special forces, was tasked by Iran to organize the Special Groups and "rogue" Mahdi Army cells along the lines of Lebanese Hezbollah. Mahmud Farhadi was the Qods Force officer in charge of the Zafr Command, one of the three units subordinate to the Ramazan Corps.
Multinational Forces Iraq learned that Iran set up the Ramazan Corps as a sophisticated command structure to coordinate military, intelligence, terrorist, diplomatic, religious, ideological, propaganda, and economic operations. "This Corps is responsible for most of the Qods Force operations in Iraq," said Major General Kevin Bergner, the spokesman for Multinational Forces Iraq, during a briefing in Baghdad on October 3.
The Ramazan Corps is based out of the Ramazan Command Center in Tehran, but information obtained by The Long War Journal indicates significant elements have forward deployed to Mehran on the border to coordinate activities.
The Ramazan Corps is split into three separate commands – Nasr, Zafar, and Fajr – each covering a roughly geographical area in Iraq.
The Long War Journal confirmed this information with a spokesman at Multinational Forces Iraq, which was hesitant to provide additional information on the Ramazan Corps. "At this particular time MNF-I is only prepared to confirm the names of the three commands that are subordinate to Ramazan Corps and that [Mahmudi] Farhadi is the Commander of the Zafr Command," said Lieutenant Commander Kevin S. Anderson.
The Nasr Command is based in Marivan in the Iranian north and deals with operations in the Kurdish regions and portions of Diyala province. The Zafar Command is based in Mehran in central Iran, and deals with operations in central Iraq, including Baghdad, Najaf, Karbala, Babil, Wasit, and portions of Diyala province.
The Fajr Command is based in Ahvaz in the south, although information obtained by The Long War Journal indicated command elements have moved forward to bases in Khorramshahr and Shalamcheh to direct operations. The Fajr Command directs operations in Basrah, Dhi Qhar, Maysan, and Muthanna.
Inside Iraq, the city of Amarah in Maysan province serves as a Qods Force / Ramazan Corps command and control center as well as one of the major distribution points for weapons in southern Iraq.
The southern and central Ratlines
The Ramazan Corps' operations begin inside Iran and flow through several points of entry along the border to destinations inside Iraq. Once inside Iraq, weapons are stockpiled and then distributed to local cells to conduct attacks on the primary and secondary targets of opportunity. The Long War Journal has obtained detailed information on the Qods Force ratlines in the central and southern regions.
Inside Iran, Qods Force manufactures and distributes weapons, provides training for Iraqi recruits, then facilitates the movement of weapons and fighters inside Iraq. Iraqi recruits, largely radicalized Shia from Muqtada al Sadr's Mahdi Army, are sent to Iran for what one US military officer described as "basic jihadi training." The recruits receive several weeks of training with small arms and, depending on the units assigned, mortars and the use of explosively formed penetrators, or EFPs.
Several US military sources stated the EFPs are indeed "manufactured" inside Iran at "production lines" in the Iranian hubs of Ahvaz and Mehran. One officer stated the EFPs should not be considered IEDs, as they are professionally manufactured landmines.
"The EFP is not an IED, in that there is nothing improvised about them. They are manufactured in factories, mostly I believe in Iran," said the US military officer who is familiar with both the Sunni and Shia variants of IEDs used in Iraq. "The true IED can be put together by small insurgent cells with little or no support. The EFP indicates a large logistical network."
In the south and center, recruits and weapons are smuggled through four points of entry. In the central regions, the Mehran point of entry in the central province of Wasit is controlled by the Zafar Command. This is the primary conduit of Iranian weapons into Baghdad. The Al Sheeb entry at Maysan province and the Majnun and Shalamcheh entry points at Basrah province are fed by the Fajar Command based out of Ahvaz.
After being smuggled through the border crossings, Iranian weapons are moved to what are described as "strategic distribution hubs" in the cities of Badrah, Al Kut, Amarah, Qurnah, and Basrah. From these distribution hubs, weapons stocks are then moved forward to "tactical distribution hubs" in Hillah, Diwaniyah, Al Fajr, Samawah, and Nasiriyah.
After the weapons are moved to the strategic distribution hubs, they are warehoused for later use. From strategic hubs, the weapons are distributed to the tactical distribution hubs. From these tactical hubs, the weapons are then distributed to local cells for attacks on US troops, Iraqi Security Forces, and rival political and militia leaders as needed.
Baghdad is considered strategic center of gravity for EFP and mortar strikes. The Iranians believe they can influence events decisively by attacking Coalition and Iraqi targets in and around Baghdad. Iranian-made mortars and larger rockets are fired regularly at the massive Victory complex south of Baghdad where the US military maintains a large presence. US and Iraqi military patrols are targeted by EFPs inside Baghdad.
Iraqi and Coalition forces and rival political groups are targets for the Iranian-backed terror groups. The Ramazan Corps views the south as a means to shape and influence operations in and around Baghdad.
The cities of Diwaniyah, Nasiriyah, and Basrah are the primary target locations in the south. Diwaniyah is fed by caches in Al Fajr; Nasiriyah is fed by the caches in Amarah, Qurnah, and Basrah.

So, why are these intelligence operatives and analysts getting paid to do guess work and are manipulating the data to make it palatable for their masters, Bush and Cheney, when IAEA inspectors have been at Iranian sites and inspected them thoroughly?

Iran has actually got enough Uranium for at least forty years worth of full spectrum Nuclear power, and that is only KNOWN reserves which are far from exhaustingly investigated. The mere fact that such a seemingly innocuous statement actually contained a huge assumption which actually justifies the insane White House rhetoric at least to some degree, seems lost on most.
Merely saying that a program was stopped in 2003 doesn't make it any more real than it ever was, however it switched just the right synapses in the programmed sheeple to at least accept there was such a program, which implies it could be restarted.
