True, but they are a clan of our tribe nonetheless. We may have killed many of them in the past, but now, they are being useful in doing away peoples of another tribe.

Gravatar "Sarkozy's ideological baggage also contains the French-Israeli business lawyer Arno Klarsfeld,a rather hysterical campaigner for the rights of Israel... [and] Sarkozy's leading candidate for heading the controversial new Ministry for Immigration and National Identity"

One might ask whether this vulgar little pretender, Sarkozy, is really serving France, the country he was (unfortunately) elected to lead, or Tel Aviv and Washington.

His role in the US-Colombian blunder in Ecuador makes his credentials very, very ambiguous now, and especially if it impedes the release (or worse) of Ingrid Betancourt, a French citizen. If Sarkozy turns out to be party to this sabotage of her release through such US-backed terrorism, it makes him a traitor to France.

Gravatar If the US and most of the western European countries are so against the so-called Islamic fascism or terrorism, why in hell do they want independance to Kosova which is comprised of 100% Moslem extremists and terrorism.
For the time being the Kosovan Moslems are pretending that they are pro the US and the west because they want our money and help to get their independence from a Christian country. But give them a few years and watch them join Al-Qaida and be in the front lines to kill Americans and our allies...!

Albanian / Kosovan Gas/Oil find

Here is a fascinating item that appears to have received little attention

Independent Resource Evaluation Confirms Existence of Giant Oil and Gas Prospects on Manas Petroleum's Albanian Exploration Blocks Manas Petroleum Corp. (MNAP.OB)

Baar, Switzerland, January 10th, 2008 Manas Petroleum Corporation is pleased to announce the results of a Resource Evaluation prepared by Gustavson Associates LLC regarding Manas Petroleum's blocks A, B,D and E in Albania.

The Report considers the licenses 8 primary and recognized prospects identified from approximately 4,000 kilometers of seismic shot by AlbPetrol, Shell, and Coparex on the concession position.

Gustavson assigns 2.987 billion barrels with 3.014 trillion cubic feet of associated gas as the P50 prospective oil resources in its oil with associated gas case. Gustavson notes that because of the depth it is possible that the prospects will hold natural gas. In its oil with a gas cap case Gustavson calculates the prospective resources to total 1.4 billion barrels of light oil and 15 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. Gustavson estimates that in the event only gas is present the P50 prospective resource is 28 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

Gustavson examined the Manas Albanian license position which consists of Blocks A, B, D & E with a total of approximately 780,000 gross acres located along the NW-SE trending fold belt of northwestern Albania. (on the Kosovan border) The plays include potential conventional exploration targets involving sub-thrust hydrocarbon accumulations in fractured carbonates. Gustavson's assessment is limited to the potential undiscovered oil and gas resources underlying the company's licenses.

The report notes that:
"The primary exploration targets are sub-thrust fractured carbonate reservoirs similar to those discovered in the 1990's in the Apennines of Italy. During the same time Shell and Coparex discovered a deep under-thrust structure within the blocks that, by their calculations, has the potential to contain a combined 820 million barrels (MMBO) recoverable of oil."

It states: "Manas has this opportunity because Shell and Coparex suspended all exploration activity and abandoned the blocks in reaction to the extreme unrest in Albania and the conflict in neighboring Kosovo allowing Manas to later acquire these superbly defined, giant, virtually drill ready prospects."

--Incidentally Hamish, where would one

Karl Marx, Esq., excellent question.

(Long answer follows, shorter answer way below. And yes, wicked capital knows no bounds.)

There is a pathology to these two and others like them.

Politely speaking I think those two have zero intrinsic self-esteem. One, I suppose, can attempt to define it in biochemical terms when it comes to the development of their brains. Or, on the other hand, attempt to explain it in biomechanical terms or in perhaps in other or a combination of all these terms.

This pathological atrophying of certain brain centers leads to equal shunting of the mind and thinking. Since there is nothing there to trigger the initial "self", external stimuli plays an overarching role in defining a "False Self".

I am of the belief that they lack any self-identity and an awareness of the autonomous "self". Thus, easily disregarding their biological essence and all history and experience that goes with that. Resulting in any compassion present being aligned with the essence of who they see as the confident Alpha-type external to themselves.

Thus, they mimic that external Alpha-type and ever try to do and out-do what the Alpha-type asks them to do or what he would do.

It is a feedback cycle that is deleterious for others outside the closed loop of the "False Self" individuals and their external Alpha-type. The Alpha-type will also use the distorted deeds of the "False Self" individuals to justify his own actions and incorporate it into "Group-Think".

I am not sure the state of study for ethology but given a chance I would love to study these human creatures. (Notice I did not say animals, my pets are far more superior, for example.)

Personally, I would put them in the massively "Loser" category. Extremely detrimental to the gene pool, humankind's development and evolution.

----Short answer:

They are bought and paid for.

Just when the postings/discussions would get interesting he would post "strangeness". Dozens and dozens of junk one-liners. Made it difficult to carry on a discussion because of his effectiveness at derailing any and all threads (topics). Sucking people in flame wars and stuff.

To this day, I believe he single handedly destroyed a.a.visitors.

Gravatar I do not know why someone would say that this article has "so little information". What do you want to numbers for next Wednesdays Lottery drawing? Over all while not surprisising the article was too depressing for me too read every sentence. I kind of skimmed through it. But it does make one thing clear to me.
Some of you readers may not be aware of this. It has never been reported in the press. But last January (2007) a CIA plot to manipulate the next German federal elections was broken up in Germany. You may have read that the Germans issued arrest warrents for 14 CIA agents for taking part in the kidnapping and rendition of a German of Muslim descent. That was only a cover story. I can not tell you how I know the real story.
One thing that I had wondered about since then is did this operation have the support of high level German politicians. I would now conclude that it did. These German politicains no doubt subcontracted this work out to a foreign party for the same reason that Tony Sopprano calls Italy when ever he needs some men for a really really sensitive assasination. That way no tracks lead back to him, in this case her and her coconspirators. Well I said about a year ago that the lessons learned by German politicains from the 2nd World War would be different from those learned by the military.
Gemany has always had better military officers than politicians, with the exceptions of Willy Brandt and Helmut Schmidt. But how this will all play out in the final chapter is still a mystery to me. Can a bunch of diverse misfits alter the course of history in a meaningful way? My head tells me that such a question shows that I am a fool for even considering such laughingly ridiculous dreams. My heart does not want to think about the most likely outcomes of the future. Perhaps self delusion is the best mind altering substance.

Gravatar We in the West are being pushed, dragged and shoved into a 'clash of civilizations' with the entire Muslim world. The conflict in the Middle East between Israel and the Arabs is spreading from Israel/Palestine and sides are being taken.

For more than a decade Westerners have been 'softened up' for real war through the medium of a 'cultural war' directed at Muslims and Islam. An orchestrated campaign of insult, criticism, ridicule and blasphemy, directed at aspects of Islamic culture which Muslims hold most dear.

Before one can fight a real war it's important and vital to deligitimize the humaness of ones enemy so that killing them becomes as natural as exterminating vermin, something Westerners have historically excelled at!

As a Westerner I find myself continually thinking that we are on the wrong side in this war and that I want nothing to do with it. I don't support the war against the Muslims. Underneath I know it's got nothing to do with religion at all. It's a war about controlling the oil and gas the Arabs have underneath their sand.

Gravatar Hamish, I would like to know what you think or how you anaylyse the Dalai Lama.

I have been so shocked by what he has done lately. I am nonplussed and really alarmed. How is this possible?
How could he be so foolish as to accept that medal of "honour" from Bush? and how could anyone be as hypocrittal
as this? He is plotting with the NWO and the "Illuminati" and th Bankers and whoever it is that is plotting against Humanity.

He is a prisoner of the Indian Government and therefore of the Americans and therefore of the Jews - but surely he does not have to go along with everything they want - and more it seems.

If you have any thought about this please do let us all know.

Since Buddhism teaches that it is all Emptiness - why should the Dalai Lama have the need to kowtow.

The most awful part of it is that "they" play both sides against each other, so they are also making a fool of him.

Unless he is one of the top players and plotters - against Humanity?

To me this is really strange, surreal and frightening. Millions of people think he is the MOST compassionate being ever - and they really trust him. They TRUST this man who accepted a blood stained bauble fro the bloody hands of the Smirking Chimp - AND he is till being praised for this great "honour." - by Indian officials and the poor Tibetans are feeling so proud.

Senseless.

Gravatar Hamish, Thank you. I have to ask you who amke is, or was?

I thought this a brilliant article.

And, by the way, it is not a question of putting trust in any deity - this is supposed to be a very good man who believes in how you sow so you reap -

It is difficult for me to believe that anyone can turn their backs of the Palestinian people, not to mention the Iraqis and Afghani. One can see what Sleazy Rice and Powel and the rest are like - it is in their faces, but the Dalai Lama looks so innocent - and he is NOT!

Gravatar Superb article. This is governmental level analysis - the sort of thing that Putin et al would get to read, and as the author's byline confirms, written by someone with inside knowledge of the security state. It describes well the process whereby the polity is infiltrated and subverted, and how public opinion is manipulated and moulded. Copied and saved for future reference. Thank you Tom for posting it, and isn't the Asia Times a remarkable publication! So much in front of anything we have in the west.

@Isabella

I was in Tibet in 1987, and witnessed at first hand the flowering of Tibetan culture that was taking place at that time. There were pilgrims wandering all over Lhasa, and the Jokhang Temple (amazing place btw!) was swarming with the devout and pulsating with energy. Tibetans generally were thriving, making money from the many tourists and travellers (everyone stayed in the Tibetan part of town), and as far as I could tell (and I always had my eyes open, asked questions), although Tibetans weren't exactly thrilled with the Chinese presence, there was a fairly peaceful co-existence and equilibrium. The Chinese did not seem to object to Tibetans following their cultural instincts, as indeed was the case in all the minority areas in the west and south-west that I visited. There was optimism. One thing I observed at the time, but did not click until a few years later, was the number of young American men in the country, some wearing "Jesus Loves Free Tibet" and suchlike t-shirts. Having spent some time in Asia both before and subsequently, this was anomalous, you would meet more Kiwis or Swedes than Americans, but Tibet was different. Two weeks after I left, a mob attacked a police station in Lhasa, burning it down and killing two cops, and in response the Chinese closed things up again. Of course it is clear to me now what was happening there. When you consider the geostrategic position of Tibet - it overlooks and dominates the whole of the central Chinese heartland it becomes clearer still, and the article above fills in the gaps.

re the Dalai Lama
Things indeed may not be what they seem. You may find the link below answers your question:

Hollywood hides Tibet's true history

I referred to this article in another forum and got jumped on by what seemed like an organised group of 'Tibetan exiles', who disagreed vehemently, but as in all these things, you will have to decide for yourself.

Gravatar isabellea and allblue,

the following was a letter written to the feer in 1987, referring to the riots witnessed by allblue....

*****************
Hypocritical elegies

I learned of the participation of some 50 foreign tourists in the recent Lhasa riots with considerable outrage. But not exactly surprise.

I've been a foreign tourist in Tibet myself on three occasions since 1985. Each time, I met tourist after tourist who, in an interval of a few weeks at most, had become infatuated with a kind of vicarious Tibetan nationalism, Sometimes it was because of one or two conversations with inevitably pro- Western English-speaking Tibetans (there are many returnees from India now); sometimes it was a rather thoughtless extension of genuine awe for Tibetan culture. But often enough it was something much more sinister. Many a blond, blue-eyed "Tibetan" nationalist with a backpack was convinced that the Tibetans were nothing but a race of "noble savages," doomed to the same kind of extinction at the hands of the Hans that native Americans have suffered at the hands of the West.

Such hypocritical elegies are premature, to say the least. But there can be no reasoning with these bigoted "saviours" of the Tibetan people. They do not care that there are fewer than 100,000 Hans in Tibet and there were undoubtedly even fewer during the Cultural Revolution (actually, an anti-communist travel guide, the Lonely Planet Tibet Survival Kit, even admits that most of the damage was done by people who were ethnically Tibetan).

They do not care that there is not a single Chinese "multi-national" corporation in Tibet pumping the area of its non-existent wealth. They don't care that Tibet has never paid a fen in taxes and has on the contrary been richly subsidised for everything from education to industry to commerce. They don't care that the people's republic has waged a long, tough fight to modernise Tibet; in fact, they don't care at all about the modernisation of Tibet, as they themselves will tell you. They are beyond such arguments and mundane concerns; somehow they have all become fanatical vicarious Buddhists and are ready to lay down other people's lives to prove it,

What is really behind all this bornagain Buddhism on the part of foreign tourists to Tibet? Why do young Westerners who wouldn't waste 5 minutes on a religious fanatic in their own country and live in horror of Khomeini in Iran suddenly become devoted (if somewhat patronising) followers of the Dalai Lama, a kind of super-Khomeini who longs for the days when every pebble and tree in Tibet is his personal property. It is not simply ignorance, though there is plenty of that. It is, in a word, racism. Not just racist hatred for the Han people (though I have certainly
heard enough tourists describe Hans as "animals," meaning everything from their behaviour on buses to their alleged "occupation" of Tibet).
It is a particularly sickening kind of patronisation of the Tibetan people, who they see as a simple, happy, carefree race of child-like savages, free from the cares of the modern world and most in need of advice on how to remain so. I know this kind of patronisation. It is the sort enjoyed by native Americans when the reservations were set up and by Black people in the US as a way of keeping them out of White schools and successful careers that would only make them unhappy. It is this kind of patronisation which, in this world, is ultimately genocidal. There can be no better proof than the apparent willingness of large numbers of foreign tourists to bravely risk the lives of large numbers of Tibetan women and children in the name of the travellers' new-found convictions.
According to the REVIEW [15 Oct.], the mob used children to seize automatic weapons from policemen and set a car alight at the height of the violence. Of course, that is horrible, callous, cynical manipulation. But there are plenty of foreign tourists who would use the whole of the Tibetan people to take out their petty anti-communism and narrow-mindedness on China. Let Tibet forever remain closed to such cynical travelling "nationalists"! Or, better yet ... let them come, let them leave their money in the autonomous region, and let them take their idiotic notions of an "independent" Tibet (hopelessly dependent on the West) with them when they leave.
Canton David Kellogg

in what respect? Der Feldzug. Yes.

In a recent interview with a German general, the interviewing reporter was hostile towards NATO and suggested that the need was past, but the general said that it was critical as it represented a contract with the US, and without the US, there was no security.

"CIA plot to manipulate the next German federal elections was broken up in Germany. "

How was it broken up, by what entity?

Gravatar @ Buddhalovespaine -- I hear you. I'd held on to the idea that the EU would gradually declare its independence from the Anglo-American sphere and carry on its own merry way, reaching out peaceably to Russia, and others, to all parties' benefit. My hopes were dashed for good with this article, for an unanticipated headlong crash with reality. Depressing. Yes. But maybe it's better that we know where we stand so as to be in a better position to regroup and respond.

@ others -- For those who mentioned the financial collapse of the US, in the hopes that such an event might put an end to the West's collective imperial project, I'd recommend caution. There is such a thing as "too big to fail"; the process of commercial globalisation has resulted in equally global finances and an interdependent world economy. In sum, it's in no one's interest to see the US go down. 'Funny' as that might seem ...

Meanwhile, we can be assured that the elites have long since placed their fortunes in non-$US denominations, in off-shore tax havens. Their ability to project power will remain intact, in the world arena, regardless of the health or destruction of the US economy.

What Brot is demonstrating is an 'Elites' Liberation Movement' [ELM], well in the works, since the 70s, with a massive shift in its favor, throughout the 80s and 90s, attributable to simultaneous, Greenspanian financial deregulation and media consolidation [US, UK and EU]. Much of the devastation of moral fiber and principles he describes is attributable to incessant, worldwide, coordinated, subterfuge media campaigns, designed to eliminate resistance to ELM's insatiable goals.

The only notion that remains stable is that economic growth über alles in a delicate world of finite resources, is tantamount to a declaration of perpetual war.
.

Gravatar Thanks for the post and the link Denk. As I said I didn't actually witness the riots, but I can attest that Lhasa was full of CIA just prior to them! Not long after was the pivotal People's Congress where Deng Xioaping's policy of "Socialism with Chinese characteristics" i.e the controlled gradual introduction of market practices was formally put in place. At a press conference given by the then PM all the questions from the western press were about Tibet. He replied "What would you have us do, return to theocracy?"

Incidentally, a couple of years later and this policy had started to have an effect, largely negative. At that time the overwhelming majority of the workforce was employed by the state, and paid a very low cash wage but a high social wage - rents were minimal, there was a separate basic foodstuffs currency, effectively a ration system (Mao's "Iron rice-bowl" policy), that guaranteed that everyone was fed. The small cash payment was sufficient for the small necessities and luxuries - razor blades, cigarettes and so on. However, even the limited amount of private enterprise allowed had introduced inflation, and cash goods were becoming unattainable for many people. The demonstration in Tiannaman Square was protesting against this - effectively protesting against inflation - they repeatedly sang the 'Internationale'! The Chinese government was unsure how to respond (Gorbachev was visiting you may recall) and so it continued. After about a week, a papier mache Statue of Liberty suddenly appeared in it's midst (hmm!), and of course we were all told (are still are to this day) that this was a 'pro-democracy' demonstration, when it was in fact an anti-capitalism demonstration. I wouldn't seek to justify the final response to the demonstration (although what actually happened there is probably not what we were told) other than to say that the Chinese have a searing race memory of the period of 'luan' (the complete breakdown of governance, chaos, destruction) in the 1920s when the weakened state collapsed into warlord dominated regions and millions died in the fighting and by starvation, and there is no way they would allow anything like that to happen again.

The idea that western 'democracy', a fairly recent (and frankly bogus) alien system can just be imposed on such an ancient culture (it soon became clear to me that the system was not communism but Confucianism) is a typically arrogant western conceit, and as the article points out, no more than a Trojan Horse that would cast China and all its people back into the ruthless hands of the barbarians (i.e us!).

Explains Frau Ferkel at the 2006 G8 and the Groper.

Of course the EU, along with the commonwealth, was the key.

Globalism knows no boundaries (except Russia and China). Who gets the spoils? Ferkel and Sarkozy must be hopeful.

No CWII. Russia won't play the game.

Is there a point where the masses will haul out the 911 Trump card? Not likely.

Gravatar Meanwhile back at the article...

One thing that reading it did was give me a better understanding of Poland's role in the big picture. Hence the following fits neatly in the slot...

Bush and Polish PM hail progress on missile shield deal

Gravatar Apologies for taking over the thread...

What was the Dalai lama doing meeting Bush recently? Getting his orders maybe?

Before the marchers in India set off, the Dalai Lama said he approved of China hosting the games because it provided the world with a chance to pressurise the Beijing government to uphold the Olympic ideals of freedom of speech and equality.

"China should prove herself a good host by providing these freedoms. Therefore, besides sending their athletes, the international community should remind the Chinese government of these issues," the Dalai Lama said.

In hard-hitting remarks, the Dalai Lama also said that "repression continues to increase with numerous, unimaginable and gross violations of human rights, denial of religious freedom and the politicisation of religious issues" by China.

...and Guantanamo Bay your Holiness?

Gravatar All Blue and Denk,
Very interesting discussion about Tibet. I had never considered the other side of the story. What you say fits in nicely with something I read I think here at ICH by a poster recently that Caspar Wineberger(?) had bragged that the incident many years ago in Sweden in which the Swedes thought that they were chasing Russian Submarines was really a false flag op done by the US.

Gravatar Way up top, Blizzard wrote:

blizzard | 03.09.08 - 4:59 pm |

Sarkozy was first brought to the attention of French voters entirely on the basis of the French press's willingness to report so-called "terrorist" incidents, in relatively poor, suburban areas, notably, while Sarkozy was Minister of the Interior, accompanied by timely, supposedly "anti-semitic" crimes [most of which turned out to be nothing of the sort].

All of this was duly amplified by the press, which meant that Sarkozy won the May 2007 presidential elections largely thanks to the 60+ group, on the basis of concern for personal security.

Brot's depiction of German anti-Muslim propaganda campaigns apply equally well to France. "Arsonist in the fire-brigade", as he qualified Sarkozy, is too close to the truth for comfort.
.

Gravatar Kla,
In reference to your comment at 11:02
My reference to German officers was an example of hyperbole.
As to why a German General would say that Germany is dependent upon a relationship for the US for its security, it is because he has to say that. Why does he have to say it? Well the answer to that question has many different levels to it. On one level it is the job of every military officer to spread disinformation to potential enemies. On another level the officers statement is true. By developing a close working relatioship with the US Military the Germans gain some level of trust with at least some officers. These officers learn about what some German officers had to go through when their country was waging a obvious war of aggression for world domination. They also gain by having people in the US defence establishment who would not hesitate to tip the Germans off if the US were going to do something really bad in Germany, like blow up the confrence room where the new Links Party would be holding a national conference, or attempting to assasinate Oskar LaFontaine, and they new about it. But can anyone really have the slightest doubt that the US is really the gravest danger to German freedom and independence. That the US is protecting the Germans from the Arabs or Muslims or the Russians is just plain laughable.
No this is just a simple case of, keep your friends close and keep your enemies even closer. As for theories about the German political eliets wanting to share the spoils of american conquests well that sounds believable, politicians everywhere are morally corrupt, and stupid enough to think that the US will honor those committments.
Now as for your comment at 11:42 I am shocked that you would ask such a thing. I know that you already know the answer to that. Unless your meaning is at a different level, like who were the case officers and what is there licence plate numbers. And I know that you know that you can not get that information from me. So why did you ask that question? A much more important question is, who in the US chain of command new about the above mentioned operation and failed to defend the constitution of the United States? And was the operation planned in CIA offices or was it an Ad hoc operation with people comming from various agencies, and perhaps people in a "retired" status?

"an example of hyperbole"

I know. Goes back to Prussia.

"it is because he has to say that."
Yes, but it still a reflection of politics, subversive and otherwise."

Who could blow the CIA scheme?

Rhetorical question.

One could speculate in the form of a generalization, as you did.

Gravatar to allblue, i went to the talk that the dalai lama gave to a huge crowd in central park in 2003 or 2004. he was very critical of bush's war.
i do not believe that he is in any way part of whatever machinations, nastinesses that bush, merkel/ferkel, sarkozy, and israel are part of., impossible.

Gravatar all blue and BuddhalovesPaine and [last but not least !] tom,

this tibet issue might look off topics but i think it fits in with the current thread's theme about the scheme for world domination.

the cia had a long record of inciting rebellion that had not much chance of success, hell, they would gladly settle for, perhaps pray for even, a bloody crackdown, just to make the government look bad.

two prominent examples were the burmese uprising in 1988, followed by tam 1989.

NED also sponsored various Chinese writers and publications. Probably NED or CIA, recruited numerous Chinese students studying in the United States

"In hard-hitting remarks, the Dalai Lama also said that "repression continues to increase with numerous, unimaginable and gross violations of human rights, denial of religious freedom and the politicization of religious issues" by China.

Guess who politicizes religion more than China? Could it be the Bush Southern Baptist, Pentecostal, Born Again, Evangelical, Christian/Zionist Fascist regime?? towards, so-called Islam-fascists, Muslims and Godless Communists, Taliban etc.etc. ad nauseous. I think so.

Gravatar The population in Germany undergoes now a reality check. Unemployment is still high and 8 million live a miserable life on welfare, means on 4 Euro a day!
Of course the elected politicans don't keep their promises like in other Western country and this political "elite" is enriching itself.

Sooner or later there will be a revolution.

Gravatar @heavenhelpus

I don't want to sound cynical, but I suspect you "believe" because you want to believe. If he was "very critical of bush's war" then meeting him and being used as part of Bush's propaganda was hypocritical at least wasn't it? I don't know if you followed the links that I and denk provided, but there is an alternative Tibet narrative to the one we are brought up with in the west, and although ultimately we have to make our own judgements on these things, the darker narrative I refer to does seem the more plausible one to me. Just what is this "religious repression" he has been quoted about all over the western press today? In the early 90s the Chinese offered the Dalai Lama a deal whereby he could return to Tibet and reinstall himself in the Potala as the head of Tibetan Buddhism. To do so he would have to recognise that Tibet is an autonomous region within the People's Republic of China, which is the view that is absolutely the genuine Chinese perspective. They regard the PRC as historical China, Tibet is part of that and that isn't going to change. The Dalai Lama, for reasons only he knows, rejected that offer and instead chose a path of confrontation. The fact that this path fits perfectly with the US global ambitions (as pointed out explicitly in the original article) means he is either a naive dupe or a cynical politician trying to achieve his aims by allying with, and hence working for, the forces of evil.

You have to ask yourself the question 'Why does Bush support 'Tibetan independence'? Because he cares about the Tibetan people? Come on, you cannot be that naive surely. The west 'supports' Tibet for the same reason it supports Taiwan - they are geopolitical instruments to be used to try and break open China so they can move in and plunder it again as they did from the early mid 19c right up to 1947. Realistically, there are only two options. Tibet is either an autonomous region within the PRC or it is a western client state. As the latter would be the harbinger of death and destruction right across the world's most populous nation as it was broken up into smaller statelets (i.e Balkanised), to me it is clear which one is the better option. The Dalai Lama it appears, is of the opposite opinion. Also, just how terrible is the former? Although I would not for one moment claim this as a definitive view, I did witness with my own eyes the robust health of Buddhism within Tibet in 1987. The Jokhang and environs was thronging with pilgrims, outside Lhasa at Samye the monastery there likewise and in several places I saw monasteries that had been destroyed in the Cultural Revolution (and incidentally you will not find a single political figure within the PRC today who regards that dreadful episode as nothing but a horrendous aberration) being rebuilt. As I say, I was a foreigner travelling around Tibet for two weeks, i cannot be definitive, but I did not see any signs of religious repression, on the contrary it was robustly being practised all over the place. If you've read the previous posts you will see that this happy situation was subverted by the CIA who incited violent actions against the government (actions supported by the Dalai Lama at the time) so I don't see that the Chinese had any choice but to tighten security.

I really can't see why the Chinese government would object to people following their personal Buddhist beliefs - why would they? However, if it was being used by outside agents as cover to destabilise the country then of course they would. If the Dalai Lama was true to his faith he would he would be speaking out against the subversion of his religion for such malign purposes, not providing succour to the figurehead of that very evil.

I am sorry if this all sounds a bit harsh, and perhaps it shatters your illusions, perhaps he is utterly insulated from the realities of the world by his (CIA controlled) entourage, and does genuinely believe that Bush et al really do just want peace and freedom for all the people of the world, perhaps he has the understanding of a child. Alternatively, he is making a political calculation that he feels is in his best interests, to become the king of a puppet state, and the inevitable death and destruction that would be unleashed right across the PRC is a necessary evil, or 'collateral damage' as we like to euphemise it these days.

We would all like to believe that there are pure spirits out there, people we could look up to and be inspired by, but I fear that if there are we would not have heard of them, or would be told they were 'terrorists' or somesuch. I presume you read the article at the top of this thread. The fact that the Dalai Lama is lauded (uncritically) throughout the west, and gets to meets presidents and prime ministers and is allowed to hold big meetings in major western cities tells you what you need to know.

@denk

Thanks again. I think there is a simple rule of thumb. In any conflict situation the CIA/Mossad/MI6 hand will be at work. Where the group fighting the government are described as 'freedom fighters' they are CIA backed. Where the they are described as 'terrorists' the CIA already controls the government. The frightening and depressing thing about this is how it is happening in virtually every corner of the globe.

CIA bought and paid for by the sheep of the US of A.

The republicans basically understand the nature of the activity. That is why they hang out flags and worship the government.

Oil=$109,20/Barrel. Gasoline up 20 percent in Germany. One Liter Benzin, according to Shell is 1.43 Euro=$2.17.

According to the Paris International Energie-Agency, a study reveals that any reduction in competition for fuels in the US and Europe due, finally, to high prices, will be offset by demand in China.

Euro=$1.52. Can't export any more.

A little behind the US but factory jobs heading for Romania and uber alles.

Lufthansa is raising the ticket prices through the ceiling. That may be good.

Business as usual for the politicians. Hassling over the jobs after the regional elections.

Gravatar ....astoundingly insightful- very depressing (from my european in los angeles perspective)...

..."911"...isn't it amazing that even the most brilliant observers seem to take the view that it was an "attack" - well it was of course in a sense....but...I don't know what this writer actually thinks...point is, there is nothing about "911" eleven that stands up to even the most cursury scrutiny - so why not admit that? - Even Gore has hinted that "all is not known"...

Anyway....very depressing...the stuff involving sweden in this article - dark hints and some of it new to me...

Gravatar allblue,
**The frightening and depressing thing about this is how it is happening in virtually every corner of the globe.**

one brit on another forum [cif] bleats about the "scary" chinese arms buildup as "sinister militarism" [sic]

i told him well u aint seen nuthin yet. !!

Gravatar In the battle against terrorism, the US and Germany in the future will exchange more information over potential terrorists, including finger prints and DNA.

So Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, today.

Germany has always been number one, along with the UK to buy into or go along with the "War on Terrorism".

What would save the world?

Everybody store the bullshit and come out front. God almighty.

But everyone believes they would give up some kind of "advantage", and that is likely true.

Phony world.
