Gravatar How far do I trust my government?

Not nearly as far as I could personally hoist and throw the capitol building in Washington DC.

Gravatar Well, Perri apparently trusts the fedgov more than I do... *heh*

1. Throw the bums out at the polls. To that end, starting "home cells" discussing and implementing the strategies and tactics found here:

http://www.webscription.net//p-1...ent- bundle.aspx

...would be a good place to start.

2. As long as we're throwing the bums out, take away much of the power the incoming "not yet bums, but just wait" have to weild by pressing for the passage of The FairTax. Put taxation back in the hands of The People, as much as possible.

3. Call in all foreign "loans". Period. And get the U.S. out of the international freeloading business at the "feddle gummint" level.

4. Use the strategies and tactics in #1 to press for review of all government programs and the ELIMINATION of all those that do not pass The Founders' Test (always ask, "What Would the Founders Do?--WWTFD)

5. Be vigilant. The enemy, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl, seeking whom it may devour. And who/what is the enemy here? The statist/the state, in all his/its nefarious forms.

“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”--Thomas Jefferson

Well, Jefferson's comment is right, up until the point that a government grown overly powerful and oppressive is able to quash the People it fears...

Gravatar So, David, When are you going for elected office?

Gravatar More importantly, what will David do with problems like health care when he does reach the Oval Office?

Gravatar Aw, c'mon now.... You can trust the government. Ask any Indian.

Gravatar "3. Call in all foreign "loans". Period. And get the U.S. out of the international freeloading business at the "feddle gummint" level."

Waddat, David? The Fed should default on its borrowing from the Chinese? You sure you know what you are talking about?

Gravatar Jahn: Me being one of those Indians.

Gravatar @probligo...

1. The federal government has no business doing anything about health care. If it needs to be done, that's the purview of the States. See Article 1 section 8 of the Constitution and then see the 10th amendment.

2. I think by "call in all foreign loans", David is saying that those nations that owe us money should be required to pay it. By "get the U.S. out of the international freeloading business" I believe he's saying stop borrowing money from foreigners, since it puts our sovereignty at risk - which of course implies also "stop spending more than we take in."

Gravatar T.F.

Great blog, actually I read two of your blogs, and they were both great (the other one being on freedom of speech, and intelligent limits.

I've just added you to "Our Friends" with a link.

Steve

Gravatar By "get the U.S. out of the international freeloading business", I'd say he's talking about ending all this foreign aid to countries that bite the hand that feeds 'em.

Gravatar Steve,

Nice work you and your friends are posting. I'll steer some traffic your way from the 5 or 6 who stop by here anyway.

Gravatar Thanks T.F.!

Gravatar "what will David do with problems like health care when he does reach the Oval Office"

Leave it alone. There IS NO HEALTH CARE "CRISIS". Doesn't exist. It's all in the mouths of demagogues. IF there were a problem, the Perri has the right of it: it would rightly be the States that would handle such things.

The ONLY health care proposal put forth to day at the federal level that has any legitimacy in Constitutional powers has been a Repugnican't proposal to address an interstate commerce issue where states are currently (most of them) regulating insurance from out of state OUT of consideration for folks who live in that state. See Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution.

Actually, boith Jahn and Perri are correct about my freeloading comment. Look: borrowing money against imaginary assets and lending money without exacting repayment are just two sides of the same coin, as it were. The middle of this worthless sandwich coin is bad faith toward the taxpayer.
