Great question...not easy to answer. Since the blog is really only a month old, I've not had a chance to highlight certain businesses and why they are or are not S-L organizations.
I think there are a lot of great S-L organizations out there. The leaders on the national level, IMO, are: Southwest, TD Industries, Whole Foods.
I will be blogging (soon, I hope) about organizations that say they are led by S-L principles, but don't carry it out fully. For example, Wal-Mart does a great job of serving customers and they use the S-L language. But look at the way they treat their vendors and you get a very different picture.
As far as education, I don't know if I have an example that stands out. There are a LOT of schools embracing S-L in a variety of ways (we are the only Master's program that is specifically called a S-L degree). At the same time, my experience at numerous schools is that places like the Registrar, Financial Aid, Business office in schools don't always embrace this model and don't come across as serving their students very well(again, something to blog about in the future).
Hope that helps! TMH
