Gravatar Thanks for the link to Bono's speech. I have to admit I doubted his depth and am therefore extremely impressed by his words. Can it be verified that he is the author of these words, or does he have "his people" write his speeches? (I hope the former is true.)

The last link on your post today is certainly provocative. The writer's arguments in support of servant leadership are appealing, even generous, but ultimately they do great disservice to SL, I think, because they are based on the flawed supposition that the Bible is applicable only as a literal guide, which reduces it to a document locked and bound by its historical context. He tries to make the case that women aren't "second" and then uses the Bible to label them as such by forcing them into secondary roles to the male leaders who populate his universe. He strikes me as a man RIGHT ON THE BRINK of either insanity or the discovery that the Bible is alive and free of time's binding. Why are people so afraid of this? Why would the Creator of the Universe not be familiar with metaphor, allusion, anaolgy and symbol? More to the point, if we accept his views, how can they be applied to the fact that 80% of the students in the Viterbo MASL Program are women?

Much to reflect upon. Thanks, Trevor!
