Boy I don't want to be a total downer, but I saw this quote by the great existential psychologist, Viktor Frankl, about his time in the Nazi concentration camps: "I would never have made it if I could not have laughed. Laughing lifted me momentarily . . . out of this horrible situation, just enough to make it livable . . . survivable."
(from Paul E. McGhee over at http://www.laughterremedy.com)
I was going through some difficulties some time back, and I remember that some DVDs of The Three Stooges got me through some of the tougher times.

Laughter and humor have always been my fallback, sometimes inappropriately so. But most of the time it is a good thing. Victor Frankl's book "Man's Search for Meaning" is a good reminder of what's important in life and how to keep things in perspective. I think that is what laughter does for us. It reminds us to find joy, along with the difficult times. I used to be a big Three Stooges fan when I was a kid. Used to watch the old reruns of them. Haven't seen them for a long time, might have to rent a video one of these days.
Thanks Chris.

Way outside of servant leadership, but the old Three Stooges videos have been rereleased in wonderfully cleaned up versions. I used to watch the 15minute versions with commercials. They're actually about 20 or so minutes.
In the budget DVD rack at our grocery store, they have these new versions with about six of the Stooges shorts (2 hours of laughs) for about $10.
They help you smile at the roughest times in life, though I still can't get my wife to appreciate them!

See thats why everyone likes having me around. Because I am sooo funny. But, looks aren't everything.
