"Hole in the hedge" philosophy reminds me of the scene in Alice in Wonderland where she goes down the rabbit hole on a whim, her dress turns into a kind of parachute breaking her fall, and she stumbles onto the adventure of her life. First thing she says after the drop is something like "Well, after this I should think nothing of falling down stairs!”
Hole in the hedge is sure a creative approach to life, and best wishes to you, Tom.
There are a couple of great quotes that I cherish:
"Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it." That's Goethe and it's like the Basil King quote: "Be bold . . . and mighty forces will come to your aid."
I think Bob Greenleaf, Lewis Carroll, Basil King, and Goethe were urging us worry less about plunging into the "Hole in the Hedge" since it's amazing how resilient we are, and great things can follow.
"Hole in the hedge." Great, unforgettable phrase. Thank you, Tom, for posting it.

Chris,
"Stumbling onto the adventures of life", that's a quote I like. Thanks for sharing your favored quotes, they do reflect well the hole in the hedge philosophy.
