Gravatar Spitzer is nothing compared with Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick... who seems to have been involved in hiring a stripper (Tamara Green), getting her whacked (possibly by the Detroit Police) and then getting the Police to cover it up. He's Eliot Spitzer, Ted Kennedy, and Janet Reno all rolled into one.

Gravatar Lib media had JFK so convinced of his universal adoration that he took to riding around in the back of an open convertible; a pretty metaphor for the habits of many of their darlings.

Gravatar Has anybody seen
My old friend Spitzer?
Can you tell me
Where he's gone?
He fucked a lot of people,
But at least he was progressive:
I just looked around and he's gone.

Gravatar It seems like the only reason the press liked him is he was going after capitalists instead of communists. His lack of convictions would seem to indicate that he wasn't really uncovering that much corruption, he was just getting headlines for uncovering corruption.

Gravatar I worked for years in television news. When I began, I expected to find what I considered liberals working there.

Instead, I found what I considered statists - reporters depended on government officials, prosecutors and police for their stories, so they took the government's side in crime and corruption stories. I was amazed.

Gravatar As an attorney, I would say that if the charges against Spitzer are true (the legal bullying ones, not the prostitution charges), then he should be disbarred, just like nifong was. What the WSJ, for instance, has described is Nifong-like misconduct, with one critical difference--Spitzer has not (to my knowledge) withheld evidence. And then there is the whole prostitution thing. So like Nifong, he should be thrown out of the profession.

Gravatar A.W.

I agree. But then, Nifong doesn't have as much money, so from a Progressive POV this seems unfair.

I think the state ought to seize his property and turn it into a Home for Wayward Girls.

Gravatar On a side note, the Limbaugh letter wasn't quite the most egregious example of Harry Reid's abuse of power (and at least the Limbaugh letter was put to good use after the fact).

Far worse was the letter sent to Disney/ABC by Reid and the rest of the congressional Dem leadership expressing their "serious concerns" about Disney's soon-to-be-broadcast TV movie "Path to 9/11." The letter, aside from its sickening tone of faux-disappointment, was chock-full of disgusting veiled threats directed at Disney's broadcast license:

http://democrats.senate.gov/news...d.cfm? id=262624

(Yup, the letter is still on the Senate Democratic Caucus's website. Nice to see they take such pride in their naked intimidation tactics.)

As a coda to this story, though the movie did eventually air on schedule, it didn't air as planned. Sadly, Disney bowed to pressure from the Dems and edited certain scenes from the movie that made Sandy Berger (and by extension, Bill Clinton) look bad. I suppose we can take comfort in the fact that the Democrats didn't demand a consulting credit and a trailer with a masseuse.

Gravatar Dan, what do you mean this seems unfair? My point is that all three have engaged in trashing people and destroying reputations, with little evidence, for political advantage.

Thanks V. I just wrote about what I knew.

Good point, Charlie. I didn't know they had written a letter to Disney. I'm sure there's other blatant abuses of power.

Gravatar Interesting comments, but since your webpage put itself into my browser history approximately 9000 times, making it difficult to go back, I doubt I'll be visiting again. Sticky is one thing, this is ridiculous.

Gravatar For those who want to read about all of the details in the Tom DeLay/Ronnie Earle saga, go here http://politicallycharged.org/ De...casedetails.htm You will be outraged. Lots of details. OH, FYI, this was from just a few weeks ago: Former assitant DA in Ronnie Earle's office says that Earle's Dollars for Dismissals scheme in the Tom DeLay Case
doesn't "pass the smell test." -- and could put the prosecutors in the defense chair. Listen to the new podcast updated February 2008.

Gravatar Sorry, JorgX.
Don't have any idea what caused that. I think the tickers do an auto refresh every so often, but I don't know what it could be.

Gravatar Saw your title on blog rush loved it how you made it look like a law firm lmao really clever rofl great job. Have great day man.

Gravatar Huh.
That wasn't what I was going for. I couldn't think of a good title.
Looks like I can be brilliant without even trying. Thanks for pointing that out.

Gravatar By chance, I came across your site and had an opportunity to read some of the articles, which I were quite intriguing. Kudos to your writers! The articles were refresing and I actually enjoyed reading the news again, alond with the honesty in the comment section. I worked in television for years, and agree thoroughly with one of your readers. Reporters, more frequently than not, get there news from governmental official, police, etc. I often wonder whose buttering whose bread!

Gravatar Thanks for popping in, Michele. Although I don't have any writers. It's just me.
