I'm thinking "looking under the hood" could be some kind of euphemism.
And, the first thing that flashed in my mind when I saw the word "circus" were those orange spongy peanut-shaped candies. I thought, "What an odd choice of scent for the otherwise discriminating AntiM. . . "

Hans is right it does have some of that first aid smell. In a good way. I like it, but I might be sorry I got a while bottle, that's a lot of circus. It makes me laugh though.

You do realize that you never once mention the name of the fragrance you're talking about?
I'm guessing Dzing!
I like Dzing!, but I rarely wear it, and "rarely" means I never wear it but I like to think that someday I might.

See, Kim... that's why you're such an asset to these comments and my personal enjoyment of the world. I was all practical and eye-rolling and boring, all the time not realising I was making potential double entendres.
Oh, those orange circus things. How is it they're still available? Shouldn't they have gone the way of the dodo by now? And while I feel I'm too discriminating to smell like an orange circus peanut, I definitely don't think I'm too discriminating to smell like a horse occasionally.
"...that's a lot of circus." is a beautiful phrase. I very much appreciate that somehow the sense of humour and whimsy behind Dzing! doesn't get subverted by marketing bullshit. It feels genuine, which makes it something to laugh with, rather than at.
NOW I realise I never named the fragrance. Oh, dork is me. I do know exactly how I missed it, though: I had to be sure I was spelling "Parfumeur" right, so I went to check on it and got distracted.
And, of course, my Guiding Lights of Scent got what it is.
I like your definition of "rarely," Nathan. I may have to co-opt it. There are plenty of scents that fall in that zone for me.

Bummer - I am a ghost. A pale wisp of a thing until roused into a crazed poltergist.
I think vampire is way cooler.
