Gravatar crap... did i miss your birthday? Crikey.. im not your best friend anymore! lol

Gravatar Word is that Snoop is a knitter, so the transition may not be as drastic as you think.

"Ennui Chicken" is my favorite. (S)He so captures that feeling. . .

Gravatar Have I ever mentioned I did my Masters on bats? Such a strange moment for me to see the BCI logo on your blog....

Gravatar Thank you, Kari! It fluctuates, you know, so I have great faith you'll be my best friend again one day soon!

I had no idea Snoop knat. A whole new world of possibilities just opened up (and "knitting on gin and juice" is just the start).

Y'know... I've often wondered what chicken ennui would look like. Now I know.

Omigosh, Jeffe! Bats are one of my favourite creatures (first tattoo? A bat). The urge to pick your brain is overwhelming. Kari may have to wait a little longer while I crown you Best Friend of the Day.

Gravatar Pick away, Marin! I can't tell you how much bat stuff I have. And Kari? Oh, SNAP!

Gravatar Love the sock graph.

Gravatar I discovered that I could knit socks for my kids if I let them pick the yarn. Both my twins have knit socks with one toe so they can wear them with their flip-flops!
Happy 4th!

Gravatar OMG - ZOMBIE CHICKENS!!

I'm so in heaven right now!

Gravatar Mmmm... bats. I bet you've TOUCHED a bat and they look so SOFT. Do cell phones/towers really screw bats up? Have you met Merlin Tuttle?

You know, Sarah, I thought that concept was just true for hand-knit socks, but maybe sock gifts are universally appreciated, even if you buy them at The Gap.

Letting kids pick the yarn is a good idea all the way 'round, Emma. It gives them ownership or something like that.

I've seen flip-flop socks. Surely they're easy enough for someone (like me) who's knitted gloves...? I'm intimidated by single-toe socks. Your twins impress the daylights ot of me

You know I thought of you, Lyda. *mwah!*

Gravatar yes, they are soft -- like thistledown. like the softest leather stretched over the finest bird bones. They also have sharp teeth! Never heard the cell phone thing, but the wind turbine thing is pretty well handled. And yes, met Merlin several times. QUITE the character!

Gravatar Oh, happy envy. It's on my list of things to do before I die -- petting a bat. I *love* that Merlin is a character. He could've been too serious or too intense or something and that would've been disappointing.

I'm so glad we got to this conversation. My Wednesday is so much better just musing on bat fur and Merlin Tuttle.
