Gravatar You know, you're getting really good at breaking the fragrances down for easy comprehension -- I see a scented cashmere castle in your future, guarded by happy face silk yarn soldiers at the front gates (which will be made of thick, plush angora, naturally).

Re: accidental hip -- when someone asks you what you're wearing (and not in that dirty 1-900 kind of way, not that there's anything wrong with that!), I can just hear you say: "PN1 by MDCI, well, it used to be called PN1 back when MDCI was new and fresh and just a blip on a cool person's horizon, but I was there first, yes I was, and I grabbed ahold of this fresh bottle of tender juice while it was still in its formative PN1 years, before it turned into Le Rivage des Syrtes that just any loser with an internet connection and his/her mother's credit card can snag."

Or something.

Love the baby blue baby jacket. I think you do yourself a disservice by saying that the buttons are the best part.

Gravatar Marin, I just got it yesterday -- I love, love, love it! The buttons do make the jacket, but the whole thing is perfect. Great yarn for a summer jacket. (What is it?) You said the buttons remind you of a compass. They kinda remind me of sheriff's badges from the Old West. My brothers always wore those when they were little. Ben certainly has his way of upholding the law around here -- baby law.
EXTREMELY SWEET of you to knit something for little ol' me -- er, Ben. He'll be able to wear it soon, and I'll be sure to take pictures of him modeling. (I suffer from the same post office / blog photo condition, however, so it might be a little while.)

Gravatar how was it knitting bsj? it looks great. i particularly love the stars

Gravatar From now on, I'll only sending cute buttons as baby gifts. Why bother with all that knitting work when the buttons are the best part?

Gravatar I have a silly, okay not silly, but a stupid knitting question. Did you find the baby surprise pattern from a book or is it an individual pattern? Im tired of the baby sweater pattern i have used over and over again and need something new.

Gravatar Why, thank you, Mr. Branch! A perfume review compliment coming from you is high praise indeed.

Oh, you nailed the PN1 thing. That's exactly how it goes in my head. And in my head, I never start giggling because I'm too much of a dork to keep a straight face.

A knitting compliment too? I'm going to be insufferable around the office today. Thank you again. My cup runneth over.

Speaking of dork... Sarah, I forgot to send washing instructions and THEN I left all the important details off the blogpost. It's Plymouth Cotton Kisses, cotton/acrylic/nylon - machine wash, lay flat to dry.

I'm really glad you like it. I knit it for you, but you can tell Ben it was all for him. Our little secret.

I really like the BSJ, eca. It hast the same type of geometric magic turning a heel does -- and almost no seaming. All garter stitch, but enough increases and decreases and such to keep it interesting. Still good wine or beer knitting.

Well, Kim, as a person who is fully capable of decorating an entire room around a single rug or throw pillow or greeting card, maybe my attention to detail has led me to short-shrift the bigger picture. I just love the buttons, ya know?

Kari, I have the pattern both in a book and individually. I couldn't find it in the book (turns out it's in an appendix in the back or something) so I bought the pattern. I will say the original instructions are a little vague, but for one, there are a bunch of cheat sheets that clarify things and I just read on Ravelry that Meg Swansen has revamped the pattern they sell to include row-by-row stitch counts.

Email me and I'll hook you up with some good BSJ stuff. I think you'll dig the pattern.

Gravatar Love the BSJs. Good job. Great buttons, but the knitting is good, too. I have two percolating...well, not even. I have bought the yarn, is all.

Gravatar Gurl I can barely crank out the ONE I've had on my needles since last freakin' fall and then you do TWO cute ones! :o) Great buttons!

Gravatar Becky, they totally count as percolating if you've got the yarn. I think you can claim percolating if you have the pattern and intend to knit it.

You could knit a BSJ in a couple of nights in front of the TV, Stacey. I feel it in my bones. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

Thanks!
