and there's been a LOT of work done to disprove the accuracy of carbon dating through which most of the determinations about the age of the earth have been done...
and this... "I suppose you could call me an agnostic with Christian leanings" ... Christian leanings? you either do or do not believe that Jesus is the son of God. One does not 'lean' to Christ... One bows. If you think that Jesus taught good stuff, but is NOT the son of God.. you believe him to be a liar. it's really pretty simple.
