I really need to update that tote board, before the indictments and removal/scandal lines on some public officials get so prohibitive they must be removed from the board. |

FYI, Pittsburgh United presented city council with over 100 signatures this morning on a petition requesting a public hearing regarding the legality of the land transfer for three parcels between the stadiums-2 for the Hotel, and 1 for the amphitheater. Not sure when the hearing will be scheduled for, but there will be a chance for the public to voice concerns. |

There's a concept in planning called "site control", as in, a planned development really shouldn't be approved unless a developer can demonstrate it has control of the development site. Either the planning commission has inside information or it's jumping the gun. Either way, I think we're all pretty tired of developer giveaways - particularly in the case of the casino scenario. It's one thing to play hard ball just for the sake of doing so, it's another to give the store away. The Ravenstahl crew is far too inexperienced to know what the middle ground is, let alone know how to get there. So, a developer/campaign contributor comes knocking, Luke/Ford/Zober open their wallets, say "yes, and yes", and only ask questions when challenged through community groups or the media. Of course, that's the most innocent explanation for their behavior... |
