It's heartless execution of innocents like Terri that make me fear God's judgement on this country.
This was a sad thing. Nothing will ever convince me that her husband didn't have something to do with how she got that way.
Cookie...additional comment on Terry Schiavo.....I had a guy on a "Christian" site I visit that tried to tell me that it was God's will to "starve" Terry to death because Terry was already in Heaven with Christ! No wonder people are becominig anti-Christian and sadly becoming pro-Muslim! God forgive ALL of us for we know not what we do! w2tsa
The way I see the whole issue is simply a case of our lack of respect for life. The issues of abortion, capital punishment, euthanasia, "do not resuscitate orders" and "war" itself are intricately tied together and if society really had respect of "all" life in "all" of its' forms and stages, we wouldn't be "enslaved" to these controversial "paradoxes."
As a Biologist and teaching this subject for 33+ years, I have come to appreciate and recognize the "miracle" that the "living" process is AND as all living organisms stuggle to maintain "homeostasis", (the natural process of maintaining positive "entropy",....transforming chemical systems from a state of low disorder to a state of high order.... LIFE IS the ONLY process, other than fusion in a Star, that does this.) I am eternally bound to defend life and this process in all of it forms and stages.
I believe the "peace" and "freedom" from life's "paradoxes" that humanity has been stuggling for throughout history IS NOT found "within" ourselves but in a "Higher Power" or "Force." Because of EGO we look inside instead and we become "enslaved" to the consequences of the Law of Free Will....simply stated...we choose to do it "our way" instead of HIS way!
"Our way" has resulted in what I believe is ultimately the source of ALL amorality,immorality, corruption, greed, hatred, prejudice, dishonesty, cruelty ETC in society.....the doctrine of "Exitus Acta Probat." (The Ends Justify the Means) The EGO of man is the source of the illusion that makes what seems right to be not necessarily "right!" "Situation ethics" is the "fruit" of this illusion and I suspect that "The Ends are Justified ONLY by Just and Moral means, OTHERWISE, the Ends become Amoral, NO MATTER HOW NOBLE!"
The above philosophy sure seems illogical, and it should, because the Ways of The Creator are NOT our ways.
