I agree with your post, however I am going to have to wait for a few months and see what he is going to do. I love, support and defended by country, and I hope that all of our efforts was not for nothing.

The most gracious speech I've heard since Senator McCain's, last night. A pair of gentlemen, indeed, unlike the guy in the video, leavin' that burrito for his poor wife....

It is absolutely corrrect when you say it takes a left and a right wing to fly; but what happens when one of those wings is leading you to sure destruction?
Christ answered this in Matthew 5:29 that: "If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell."
Just saying, maybe it is better to walk into safety rather than fly into perdition...

Tom, the talk radio I listened to today wasn't hateful at all.
I will:
1st- protect and defend the Constitution
2nd- honor the office
and 3rd- respect the man.
As Ben Franklin said, we have a republic, if we can keep it.
That requires vigilance, and at times confrontation.
The President-elect said our Constitution is ‘fundamentally flawed’ because it does not ensure equality of results, that idea must be opposed- without personal malice, but with all vigor.
How might the original President George W. look at this election?

I am with you and Dare2believe, The people of our country have gone to the polls, cast their ballots and the majority opinion is that Barrack Obama is the president Elect. I support him because he has been elected to the office and
I will:

and 3rd- respect the man.

Good Post Cookie...however, I would say...I will not support an American(still not sure his Birth Certificate wasn't faked) Marxist who would trash the very foundations of this nation created by our founding fathers.
I may not be from Missouri, but Barack Hussain Obama needs to "Show Me" his soul, and I doubt he can or will.

Pat, we cant help you here.
You believe what you believe. But think of this: what if half the population rose up to fight, everytime we elected a president?
It happened once, the civil war. I won't be responsible for fueling such a think on my watch.

I can't help but look back at the attitudes by some liberals/democrats after G.W. got elected. He was fought, disrespected and not supported almost from day one. I guess I'm really kind of sick of that shit, and I'm certainly NOT going to emulate those assholes who reacted that way to his election.
I don't like Obama, in fact he scares the shit outta me, BUT, lets give him a chance.

Hi Cookie,
I scanned (a small part of course) the conservative blogosphere and found relatively little venom directed at the winner and his supporters. Many take your attitude. That's encouraging for America, in my humble opinion.
From Jan 20, Obama will have to start proving immediately what metal he's made of when he hits the ground running with an in-tray of problems only the greatest of presidents have ever successfully dealt with. And don't expect miracles, he's not The Messiah.
McCain's concession speech was moving and admirable, yet I fear that the man will be sidelined in the inevitable internecine bloodletting that will follow republican defeat...

I will accept him as president of the United States of America, what I will not do is consider him an honorable man or an honest man or one with any integrity. And I damn well will not compromise my principles just because he duped a majority of the American sheeple. If we compromise our principles we are no better than the liberals who would compromise theirs for power any day of the week. Everything Mr. Obama stands for is in direct opposition to what I stand for. If he wants my support on anything then he will have to govern completely opposite to what he said in the campaign. You folks who will compromise your principles just so people like tom won't think you're divisive, are gutless.

You got it Wilmer...only thing worse than a gutless liberal, is a gutless Conservative, who just wants to "go along" to get along.
I want no part of a Marxist, gun grabbing, anti free speech, Chicago street hustler. I'll accept him, like the left did Bush for 8 years.{which of course was not at all}

Pat - I cant help you, but I hope you figure out how to get your anger and bitterness under control.
Its apparent that folks who don't agree with your view of the world are gutless and marxists.
America has spoken and they want a different direction. They are as deserving of that as you are to your own opinions.
Sorry it has to be this way for you. Remember our oath - to support and defend the constitution...

Tom
Mr. Obama has said that the constitution of the United States of America is fundamentally flawed. How can you support Mr Obama and the constitution at the same time? You either have no concept of "fundamentally flawed" or you are suffering from cognitive dissonance or both. Another thing is quit trying to pretend to be conservative. Your spewing of democrat talking points, ie, anger, bitterness, etc. just shows that you don't have an original thought of your own. When the founders of this country were battling for the hearts and minds of the people, only 30% of the people agreed with them. In your twisted way of thinking, the majority is always right. If moral principals are your foundation then you don't have to depend on the majority to determine who you support.

WOW! Been gone fer a couple a days and I see its been going hot & heavy here at the shack.
Pat & Wilmer, I know that all that I (and I believe Tom as well) are saying, is, considering the circumstances, we should at least give him a chance. My position is very clear. My entire blog was devoted to trying to stop Obama. I don't trust him, and I disagree with most of what he stands for, but twice in my life I swore an oath to uphold and protect the constitution and what it stands for, once for the Military and once as a cop. To do that completely, it's now up to me to wait and see what shakes loose, and NOT undermine the man before he's even had a chance.

I love how left wingers like Tom try to paint those that disagree with "The Messiah" and his message as "bitter and angry"...Not bitter at all, but I know this country is in deep, and I will fight this SOB named Barry Soetoro every step of the way to defend MY country{last I looked this clown hasn't even produced a actual birth certificate}.
If that makes me a "bitter Conservative gun owner", so be it....funny, I enjoyed the weekend, and at this point "The self-proclaimed holder of The Office of the President-Elect" hasn't stepped his corrupt ass in the White House....his ego, and the stupidity of his followers are amusing, but not dangerous, for another 71 days.
Check back in January Tom, then maybe you can call me bitter, unless then, keep your Monica style knee pads for Obama at the ready.

After Checking out Tom's blog...let me make a few corrections/observations.
Tom does not appear to be a "left winger", more like a moderate{about as dangerous, because they tend to trust arseholes like Obama, until they get screwed over}.
I also noticed Tom served 33 years in the Military...and he gets my thanks for that. So what I am going to say is not meant to piss off guys like Cookie, Tom, or the hundreds of career military folks I am with in the VSPA
http://vspa.com
or who read my blog, or those fellow
American Legion, or VFW members....most are good folks...however, one thing I have noticed over the years...Career Military types tend to take orders, without challenge, that is not or was it ever my style. I only served 4 years, and I can say I was in the sheethouse most of those 4 years....never was up on taking orders I thought were BS, that was part of my problem...I also knew a skunk when I smelled one, no matter how long they had served. I also know a dangerous politican when I hear one speak.
Obmama and his Marxist wife are skunks, and dangerous. His followers love the smell....this shallow man, proped up by his Marxist inner circle, is dangerous to the very freedoms and foundations of this once great country....I will never give him a pass or support his Marxist views.
If that makes me bitter or angry(and neither are true), then so be it.

Ahhh yes. That's one of the things I truly enjoy about blogging...good honest dissent and debate, and evryone is completely entitled to their opinions. Sometimes, if we're lucky, we find middle ground ...sometimes not. Everything in my gut tells me to stand against Obama (at least at this point in time), however, I would only be furthering the divisiveness that has hurt this great Nation over the past eight years, and that would make me as bad as any left wing loon out there. Nope...note this man...at least not yet (operative words).
If I get a whiff of Socialistic or Marxist doctrine, then Cookie's blog will most definately be even more right-conservative than it was before, and Pat, that was one of my problems in both the Military and on the Force, I didn't follow bullshit orders blindly or play well with others at their convenience. I'm just being pragmatic fer a spell to see which way the wind is gonna blow...

Fair enough Cookie - There's a difference between blindly hating the guy who got voted in and participating in healthy debate and discourse about various policies he might be trying to enact.
I for one will always point out policies and bills that I'm not in favor of - thats democracy. But I won't attack Obama simply because he's Obama.
