Somehow I have been extremely fortunate in that regard. My really small dog who is now 8 years old has only gone into heat a couple of times and even at that, there has been very little "leakage."
I would have got her fixed a long time ago, but the vet said she would have to stay overnight and he wouldn't let me stay there with her.

as for parties and drinking, they're almost as much fun as throwing rocks at mutts trying to fuck my dog.

My aunt used to breed dogs and she had them in the diapers, damn that looks stupid (but better than blood).

PS My dog was in heat a couple months ago. I can't imagine having that shit INSIDE the house the whole day. Mine only comes in at night and that was bad enough! Get some doggie diapers...I gotta see pictures of that!!
