I think the general public is confused and being unfair. It's not about the national oil company giving money back to the Rakyat. It's about how well the money was spent by the ruling government.

It was pretty bad, and I reckon the same $%*&$@% will happen again soon. Before end of 2008 of we are not careful.

Gravatar What was it like over there during the East Asian financial crisis? It will probably look the same.

Gravatar Life as usual for me, with less pocket money. Increase in fuel prices in inevitable. People of Malaysia have to change their mindset and stop living on subsidies all the time. They've become too comfortable living on subsidies. Politicians have to start thinking for the people instead of thinking of their own popularity and power struggle. Personal income taxes and tolls should be scrapped. Government of Malaysia also has to stop counting on dividends and tax incomes for their paid vacation holidays. People of Malaysia should stop pointing their finger at the sole company that had done too much contribution and sacrifices for their sake. The very same company that they took great pride of during the good times, but criticise when the good things are taken away from them.
