As I recall, the reason for the change back then was to make staff more visible, in contrast to the very dark blue worn before. It certainly worked.


Train operators have been wearing the darker fleece for a while now. Also, new staff have been issued with darker shirt and revised tie for around the last six months. Polo Sjirts are only going to be issued to train op's, as their role is nos as customer facing as others. Everything will be darker, which I like, and all of the colleagues i have spoken too seem to prefer it.

LOL, watch out on ebay for the old uniform and maybe even some items of the new one!


Are they going to get rid of the ridiculous peaked caps that they make SA's wear though? I always giggle whenever I see them wearing it. I'm sorry, but I do!


The hats are now optional for staff.


I think a blue bowler hat should be compulsory for all staff. It could become a symbol of London, now that virtually noone wears the traditional English bowler.
