The Oyster Bar. |
The AlwaysTouch Inn? |
oh I got nothing really...this is a tough one (especially since I'm not a frequent visitor to bars). |
All good suggestions - we've also had the Halifax Arms, The Aspidistra Flying (or my I still believe improved suggestion of The Flying Aspidistra) as a nod to George Orwell's ideal bar being called Moon Under Water (which many years later led to the chain we know and err love!?), Room 101 (another Orwellina reference), "Les Zianoush" or "Les Zianoush du Guinness" and The Podworth Arms. |
Be careful about that pub - the TfL lawyers might go to drink in there and see the mat. |
Ah but it's officially licensed |
The Cap & Bottle |
Hmm old style names like that remind me of Tony Hancock's pubs "The Dog & Duck" and "The Hand & Racket" |
How about a more modern one like The Litigious Lawyer? Or The Cease and Desist? |
Two suggestion, if I may do two from you |
The Cut & Cover? Or if you're going for the Irish theme, O'Toole's? |
*suddenly gets The AlwaysTouch Inn and bursts out laughing* |
A third name idea! The old routemaster |
The Passengers Are Reminded That Smoking Is Not Permitted On Any London Underground Train or Station Inn |

Is that a stolen Hoegarden glass, Annie? |
Stolen Hoegaarden glass? (please don't forget the two a's) |
I've actually been to the town of Hoegaarden. It's dwarfed by the brewery. |
Ooh! a bottle of Duvel! Someone has taste!. That's what comes of having your other half besotted with Belgian beer I suppose! As for the name of a pub on the tube: 'Tipple on the Tube' would go down well for me. |
