Finalist in the Bloggies Awards

Finalist in 2007 Bloggies Best British & Irish Blog. Many Thanks!

So let's have your comments then!

If TfL don't want the space, I'll happily plaster up a few posters of my own.

"Vote Boris" posters might be amusing?

Some smart blue paint would be nice.

If you look at the condition of the rest of that area of the station, it seems to me that they are preparing to close it for refurbishment - things like some of the paneling having been removed and the station signs having been replaced by single square panels, rather than the multi-part roundels.

The northbound Victoria at Warren Street had the same ads for 18 months a short while ago. I was forced to read jubilant headlines about Joley Richardson's fabulous stress management techniques in Psychology magazine for far longer than is decent.

Great that they are saving 4 tonnes of paper per year, but at the (green) cost of running hundreds of electrically powered projectors !!

Yeah, and if they're anything like the lcd projectors you use for presentations, those babies are going to kick out some real heat. Exactly what the tube needs...

I saw a few of these new electronic bill boards in London this week. Oddly I saw more that had crashed and were publicizing "control alt del to restart" than any product.

Odd how times change and the people putting up posters now have a keyboard and cable than a bucket of paste and a ladder...

I work at Tube Lines, the company responsible for maintaining and upgrading the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines. Jono is right in spotting the signs of a station refurbishment but there are no closures planned. All of the work to improve safety, security and the amount of information available to passengers takes place at night during the few hours when trains don't run. It's a hive of activity with around 150 people working on site. Work will complete in May. Annie, if you'd like to come and do a night visit to see what's happening to improve the station, I will happily organise that.

Laura - Interesting, I may well do that as I have noticed more ceiling holes exposing wiring behind chicken wire than usual at the station and it does look pretty shoddy when you leave. I'll be in touch

Eh?! I just instructed the National Gallery to pay some guy GBP 1 million for that installation art. Oh well, it's not MY money.
