Gravatar Here's a different suggestion (and I know you don't like Germans): Jurgen Klinsman. He's practically American, is getting the most out of mediocre German talent, and will be avaialable unless Germany takes the trophy. He'd get the most out of our speed and create some attacking players (see: Adu, Twellman, etc.).


Gravatar There are worse suggestions. After all, the Germans complained that they wanted a German coach when Klinsmann was selected because he's living in the US.

Overall, however, I do not want an American manager just for the sake of having an American in charge of the national team. After all, the '94 team played decently well, advanced to the knockout rounds and had a non-American manager.
