John,
I had a 'blog' question that perhaps you could answer. There were a couple of blogs that I tried to comment on, but they had no 'submit' or 'publish' button. Other people were commenting, so I am not sure if it was just my computer, or the site, or maybe you actually have to have a blog in order to comment? It seemed like most everyone there did.
And if that is the case, couldn't I get a blog just to have one? Isn't david's like that? (as in no posts or anything). Just wondering, thought maybe you could help.
Thanks. And that article on mental illness is scary. Scary that they can do what they're doing, and if that is the whole story, the fact that they're obviously flying under the radar to do it. And I don't think it's just aimed at public and private school kids-the article said they wanted to survey every teenager (American). However,I guess it would probably be more difficult for them to reach homeschoolers for the survey.
thanks

Gravatar Yes, Lauren, there are a few different blog and commenting services available.

IF it's a Xanga blog, it requires a Xanga account. If it's a Blogger.com blog, like Tait's, or Kelly Reins', chances are that it requires a blogger.com account.

However, a few blogs, like Mine and the Rebelution, use a service known as Haloscan, for people to comment without an account. It's a simple, effective service that allows us to have a lot more control over the comments, and it's not very expensive.

But signing up with Xanga or Blogger is free, and to comment on those blogs, it's often required to sign up. If that doesn't solve the problem, I'm not exactly sure WHAT the problem is. :

Hope that helps!

~ In Christ, John.
