He wore it like that just for this. Typically, he combeth it not.
The HV20 also has a flash for still photography, and stores 2 megapixel image files to a miniSD card.
A very nice all around camcorder for consumers, I was very, very impressed.

Gator has glasses now!! :D I didn't recognize him at first--I'm thinking, what kid did John pull for this test? Why not use one of his brothers? LOL Wow that kid's growin' up! Tell him the glasses are great! :D
Oh, yeah, and the test... lol jk
That's a great little test you did. Very good to see. Thanks for sharing it with us! :D

Awesome footage, John! My next camera will probably be the HV20, as I can't afford the bigger gear yet, and it does shoot HD... Is there any way you could post some short uncompressed clips somewhere...so that those of us contemplating the purchase can play around with the footage? Also, were the stills on the main page cut from video or taken in still photo mode? Also, I read that it shoots 1920x1080...is that true? Does that mean that it is non-anamorphic widescreen?
Sorry for all the questions, I just saw your post and started drooling over those images...

It actually shoots 1440x1080, as I'm aware, and stretches to 1920. That's how HDV works.
Anyway, the stills are from the same video posted above. The idea was that you would see stills from the video, so you could get more detail. The video isn't especially helpful without an idea of it's full scale.
I may post uncompressed video. Who knows. Nothing I have now though. I sent the camera with Pastor to Myanmar.
