Funny how Jimbo didn't seem to have anything positive to say about elections in Iraq — maybe because terrorists weren't on the ballot.
Here's a hint: you rarely actually see complaints about the officials of organizations when those officials are known for torturing and killing dissenters. Jimbo might want to consider that one for just a peanut-pickin' moment

I was 8-12 years old when Jimmy Carter was in office. As a Catholic I thought his opinion about abortion was terrible, and noted that the economy in the late 70's sucked (can you say "Gas lines?"), but tried not to hold that against him. Then the Iran hostage situation he bungled like nobody's business. Then in came Ronald Reagan, creaming him in a landslide. I maintained pity for Carter but went on to see what a real President should look like in Ronald Reagan. I still afforded Carter some respect since he was, after all, an American President.
It wasn't until recent years that I've been, unfortunately, more intimately acquainted with his political philosophies. I began to lose respect and lose it quickly, especially in how he sucked up to Bill Clinton but put down Pres. Bush.
When I saw on the news yesterday what he said, as you outlined in your entry, about Hamas, I said out loud, "What an idiot! He's a total idiot!" and meant it. Jimmy Carter is as bad if not worse as many of the other Democrats because he was a President and should have a better world view. His understanding of terrorists and terrorism makes it ABUNDANTLY clear why Democrats should not take back the White House if there is any concern over national security.
You said it, Amy. He should know b/c he's a former prez., that makes it all the worse. BTW, I love how it's now acceptable for ex-presidents to criticize the current man in charge. It's OK b/c it's just Bush.
But honestly, where is the outrage? There are a lot of Jewish people running the entertainment/news industry out there. I'm sure many have been to Isreal or still have family there. How can they ignore Carter talking up a group of terrorists that have been responsible for killing Isreali civilians and believing the country has no right to exist? Do they hate Bush THAT much? Guess so.
Where's the outrage from EVERYONE? "so-called" terrorists? Are you kidding, Jimmy?
And I am sorry, but if I worked at SNL I could do an even funnier video about why Hamas is better than the Republican party, b/c at least none of them are under investigation for corruption. IT's the most ludacris thing I"ve ever heard!!!
But you know, it's that great nobel-peace-prize winning (aka anti-american), hostage bungling, inflation/stagflation-loving, malaise talking peanut guy, so what do we expect???
I remember Carter getting chased by a "Killer" rabbit. If that doesn't tell people that Carter is more than a failure, then remember it was his deal that enabled North Korea the time and materials to develop their nukes.
