The House has approved this. However, calling my reps?

Here's their take on this bill.

"A day after the House voted overwhelmingly to extend the Voting Rights Act, Rep. Joe Barton of Arlington said Friday that he opposed it because he believes that the four-decade-old civil rights law would unfairly punish Texas and a few other states for discriminatory practices that have long since been fixed.

Barton was one of six House Republicans from Texas who bucked the House GOP leadership in opposing the law’s extension. It passed 390-33."
