A little confused? Apparently, Congressman Cohen has an overdue appointment with the gastroenterologist to remove his head. That is dementia.

I'm not saying Rep. Cohen is right or wrong; but I am now confused as well. I studied the lottery amendment as well as I could before casting a vote on it. I remember there being much talk in the Chattanooga area media, clarifying that the money was for college scholarships and pre-K, and NOTHING else. It's not that K-12 was never mentioned; it's that it was SPECIFICALLY ruled out. So I'm wondering how that clause got in there after we all voted on something that I remember as being different.
I admit that I could be mistaken, but I had many discussions about this, and read newspapers/watched TV, and read the amendment when I voted.

I remember it exactly as reported here. All the concern about poor K-12 education results and how the "education" lottery money wouldn't even address K-12 - unless of course there were some scraps left over to build more buildings...so we could continue poor results in K-12, but in new buildings. Then we instead used the scraps to create Pre-K, again ignoring poor results of K-12 and ignoring the promised use for the funds. Now it is being discussed to "make loans" with the scraps for K-12 capital improvements - yet another lie.
It's appropriately nicknamed: The Stupid Tax.
