As if the teacher's union is ever going to stop fighting home schooling or the Democrats will ever go against the desires of that union.
I am seeing several "illegal private schools" crop up with big banners advertising their existence on almost every street corner. They are appealing to K-12 students (even pre-K!) - meeting for five or six days per week and at least 3 hours per day. That meets the fire marshal's "definition" of a school they use when bullying the homeschoolers and Mennonites. In fact, these new, "illegal private schools" are mostly occurring at churches - also a favorite target of the fire marshal when bullying homeschoolers. In fact, some of these "illegal private schools" are meeting in the same buildings that the fire marshal kicked the homeschool groups out of.
These new "illegal private schools" are called Vacation Bible School. They are everywhere the next couple of months. Since the fire marshal code enforcement exists solely to protect the life safety of citizens, I fully expect them to do their job and shut down these "illegal private schools" out of concern for these children - especially when they are meeting in some of the same structures that they forced the homeschoolers to leave for fire saftey reasons.
This is about life safety isn't it?
Or are they fire-retardant because they attend government schools and take gateway exams?
