Perhaps there is a valid argument eliminating the presence of privately held weapons in a sealed enviornment where actual armed law enforcement's guns are the only arms permitted. The identification of prohibited weaponary would become somewhat easier to identify.
But as in the case of my own son's New Mexico high school enviornment where police officers are not permitted to carry weapons on campus without specific orders I no longer understand why this continues to be a topic of polictal conflict. The problem is not going away.
Criminals don't fear the phone, they love both the phone and the iPod. While these devices distract their future victims, they are nifty little sale pieces at the pawn shop after they're done with their dastardly deed.
Leftists don't want people to defend themselves. They want "gun free zones" AKA murder scenes because in their warped minds they actually believe that once the carnage reaches a certain point then they can sell the concept of repealing the 2nd amendment and regulating firearms out of existence.
The idea of self defense is anathema to them because it depends on the individual and not the state.
Dependence on the state is their objective and sacrficing a few students is OK with them as long as the final objective of state control is obtained.
Call 911; when seconds count the police are only minutes away.
