Gravatar Albert Pujols carried his team more than Howard...it doesn't matter how you make the playoffs if you do...you got a chance...and the Cards could have won it the last 3 years. things just finally clicked when everyone least expected it. Pujols simply the best...and he'll back this up just wait and see...remember when people were all pissed about the Glavine incident? How did he respond? He smacked a HR off him and the series went to the Cardinals...deal with it...he'll win between 5 and ten MVPS before it's all said and done...albert also won the gold glove this year and struck out 131 less times than Howard...he also hit .397 with runners in scoring position as opposed to .247 from Howard...Alber also hit .435 with runners in scoring position with two outs as opposed to Howard's .256
You want to talk clutch or carrying a team......it's simple ALBERT PUJOLS is the BEST...possibly ever...or at least my maybe when it's all said and done.

Albert honestly is a great guy off the field just check out his bio and his foundation...class act but EXTREMELY competitive...don't forget he is kind of young still though he doesn't play like it! He's said a few things dumbly but how about people like Mark Prior who accuse Pujols of roids?

Gravatar If I remember right, Mark Prior is known for being just a touch cocky himself. It comes with the territory. I think the problem with Albert's statement is that it's a very uncharacteristic attack on Ryan Howard.

I'm not saying he doesn't have a point, I'm just saying that he should know there's nothing to be gained from having something like that put in the papers.

I'm not a huge Derek Jeter fan, but when he lost out on the MVP to Morneau, he did what he always does: he said the right thing. That's why he stays free of the character criticisms.

It's just a faux pas, that's all, but it's still one worth discussing, considering.

this is how the interview really went down...I KNEW it was taken out of context...I really hate how the media does this...especially to a guy like albert

Gravatar We're all guilty of it, no doubt. The biggest problem stems from the fact that translation can be so subjective. Thanks for the link, it was helpful.

Gravatar In all fairness to the Phils, they did win three more games then the Cards this year. They put on a great push at the end of the year unlike the cards who fell apart but then fell back together in the playoffs.
I'm not saying Howard should have acutally won but I just don't buy the need to make playoff arguement.

Gravatar Correction, 2 games, but the point stands.
