Excellent post....you picked one of the best exerts from the speech...
I used to think he was the best candidate who happens to be Black.
Now I realize not only is he the Black leader we've been waiting for, he's also the national leader America has been waiting for.
Obama '08!

The Big O hit a homerun with this speech. He covered everything he was "supposed to" and them some. He weaved the Rev. Wright commentary seemlessly into the context of race in America. On a side note, I know Hillary pulled a Florida Evans -- not that we should even still be talking about her.

Amazing speech - dude is a prophet. I liked when he talked about his white grandmother who was scared of black men.

CJ know Hillary pulled a Florida Evans
Roderick: Hell she has probably pulled two or three 'Florida Evans' by now since Florida gave up on a re-vote. Now it will be up to Dean to figure out what to do with the Florida delegates.
I would love to see Queen B's face right about now: DAMN DAMN DAMN

God's Son is giving even MLK a run for his money.
He did more to heal racial tension in a 20 minute speech than was done in 20 years of affirmative action.
Barack Obama is a prophet. Remember where you heard it first.

If he doesn't get the nomination now, America does not deserve Barack Obama.
He has a way of communicating that he is a man and will remain his own man, despite all the political pressure that he has endured.
For those who don't know him by now, folk betta recognize!

Chi, as you mentioned before in a previous post, Barack has to prove to all of those who feel that he has not been tested that he is not only smart enough, but hard enough to do this job.
It's not a question of whether he'll get the nomination now, but how will he fare against McCain in the eyes of the American people (many of whom still think he's Muslim) after these attacks and those that will follow.

Obama gives me chills...he is definitely the most compelling figure -political or otherwise of our generation.
America's demons are stirring because he stands for all that unifies and divides us...he has a keen understanding of both worlds with a love and compassion for the struggles of all. You are right Paul, he is not merely the black leader that we have been waiting for...he is the leader that America has been waiting for.
America is already forever changed because of him...

P&G/GM Marketing executive turned Pastor of Harlem Church.
TSO...What is this guy's story? Crying for attention? Mid-life crises?
In June..he predicted that the ticket would be driven to become a Hillary Pres/Obama V. Pres and make movies about it in the end.

I wrote an excerpt about all of this nonsense in "Cotton Pickin' Paycheck"
All of the pieces to the puzzle are lying on the table.
R we strong enough, bold enough and smart enough to sit down and put it all together? R we too tired and weary and just want to push snooze for
another 5, 10, 15, 30 years or more? The alarm clock is ringing in
our ears, a puzzle is sitting on the table, and what R we going to
do?
We say we do not have time for games so we ignore the puzzle. We say we are not good at figuring things out for ourselves so we ignore the puzzle. What about that natural curiosity that once existed in our souls? Do U remember when...U saw a puzzle on a table and truly wanted to have that thrill of putting it together?
Have we lost this thrill of accomplishment as a community? Doesn't
problem solving feel better than pointing fingers and finding blame?
Everyone is watching us to see if we are sheep wandering around waiting to either be gobbled up by the wolves (pundits) or slaughtered by the meat dealers (Republicans) or rescued by a
shepherd (we can never seem to unanimously decide WHO or WHAT that
should be)?
The alarm clock is ringing. We need to wake up, get dressed, get to
work and when we are in the comfort of our homes...not rushed...not
in a hurry...just sit back with no distractions...put the puzzle
together.
Please do not allow the world to confuse U to the point that U lose
focus on your personal priorities in this election process. They
should have been defined B4 we reached this point in life.
Yes there are confusing issues floating all around...it is by
design. Confuse and confound those "emotionally driven and
illogical masses".
U hear the alarm. Stop ignoring it. Get to work. Do your own
research, put together your own puzzle and stop allowing folks to
get into your head and heart. No one has earned that right and
priviledge. One vote per person. No big vote nor little vote.
No more snooze buttons

I hear you DV. I'm not saying that Obama isn't on his way to greatness. I'm just saying that after a great 13 or 14 months we don't need to lift him to the MLK Jr. pedestal.
