Okay, so are you saying he shouldn't get a new trial, or he should? I'm a little confused by the tone of the last line.
That's what he was (and will be) on trial for. I'm not sure what tone it was supposed to have.
The tone may have been clearer if I had written, "What was he on trial for, you ask? For hacking up . . ."
Sounds like 2nd Degree or something lesser than Murder One. It does not sound premeditated. With a retrial, I would be surprised if he got 1st Degree Murder and the death penalty again.
