If you were to pick a winery with the most "wacky" names across the board, Bonny Doon would get my vote! And overall very good wines. My personal favorite is the Vin Gris de Cigare (same label as your Volant). We need more dry rose's in life!

Must admit that I have always found the cigar volant a bit too chewey, and a bit too expensive for what it is. I am more inclined towards the rosé. But nice to see someone doing reviews.
Take it easy,
Caveman

You can't go wrong picking a Bonny Doon for a wacky label. I also enjoy this wine. Maybe not quite as much as you do but thank you for the detailed review. Very nice touch with all the space related descriptors.

I have been enjoying the wines of Bonny Doon since 1994 when I was looking for a white wine to enjoy with some bread and cheese. The local wine shop showed me the typical California whites but this quirky bottle with great art (yes, I know the label doesn't make the wine but this was great art), and a bizzare poem on the back of the bottle. It was a bottle of Pacific Rim and it was my first bottle of Bonny Doon. I have been a fan ever since. I look forward to trying this wine.

Breadchick,
Randall Graham at Bonny Doon is great for wine. He's willing to experiment and push the extents of winemaking. I haven't yet tried the Pacific Reisling, but have heard good things. Thanks for the tip, I look forward to drinking some soon.
