Hi Amber! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I can really relate to what you are going through. All I can say about the feeling welcome part is that not all parishes are alike. Some are very warm, and some are not. I went to a new parish, where Mass was being held in a trailer. It really helped that the community was so small, because I got to know people better faster. Also, they had donuts after Mass, and people lingered around and talked. I was fortunate enough to have someone from the parish recognize that I was new, and try to welcome me and help me as much as possible.
Hang in there! It will get better. I found I was happier when I got involved in organizations within the parish. Take care, with love and blessings!

Amber,
As Cathy says, it really depends on the parish. When I first converted I lived in Houston. I went to the same church fo two years and no one ever spoke of was friendly. Not even the priests.
Up here at the lake however, the parish I belong to is quite small and when I started going to Mass there, within less than a month people were recognizing me and speaking and by the second month they had asked me if I would like to help take up the collection on Sundays. What a difference!
I think you'll do fine. It just takes some time.

I remember feeling similiar years ago when I joined the Catholic church. It does get better, and it's so worth it in the end.
