I feel so 'in tune' with where you're coming from, Amber :)
For me, the Liturgy & the Eucharist is complete ~ it is enough! A Church that has to rely on trappings is missing the central point ~ Christ, truly present in the Eucharist. Neither could I go back to my former Church now my eyes have been opened!
So good to share with another convert about these things :)

I am a cradle Catholic. I would feel strange in a church with those trappings. I like to have my trendy hangouts outside of church. I feel more secure with a "constant" church.

"I believe too many churches have replaced an alter for a stage."
Hit the nail on the head with that one! That's great!

I wish that more people would sing in mass - that's one of the things that I always loved about my Protestant church.
But, I do know of one church that prays like Catholics and sings like Baptists. :)
