This Catholic Journey

Gravatar The way the situation was with my family regarding our Catholic conversion, I wrestled with the question of inviting my family for about a minute and a half! :)

Tim's family was a completely different story - they were invited and were glad to be there for us.

My daughter will be confirmed in April of this year and my family WILL be invited to that. I really hope they will put aside their own issues for a little while for her sake.

Gravatar The easter vigil is an amazing and joyful mystery, I'm glad my family came. All you can do is offer it to them, they may say no, but at least they were offered.

Also, if you can't get confimation of your baptism you can recieve a conditional baptism at the vigil.

Hope RCIA is going well. :)

Gravatar Deanna, I really hope your family will make it for your daughter. I can imagine that it would mean a lot to her if they did... Also nice to know that you at least had a small amount of support from Tim's family. I imagine that made it a little easier!

Gravatar Matthew, I'm really wavering about whether I should even offer... I'm not sure I need the possible stress that may come from wondering if they are going to make it or not. Perhaps it might be best if I just don't expect them at all!
