This is precisely what I was thinking. "Play nice, be a good boy and we may not keep you in prison and kill you". It's an all too typical tactic with the powers that be in the court system. Look at all the "deals" that get struck with people who are innocent but cannot afford a shark for a lawyer...throwing one's self on the mercy of the court is just that.


Gravatar I think you may be right ... he goes home ... takes whatever he thinks will save him and then they look the other way. They are playing with his life to save face in the situation. This is why you have both prosecution AND defense lawyers BOTH claiming that they win 95% of their cases .... it's a lie and the defendant usually is the one who loses -- innocent or guilty.
