Given my recent anti-Viguerie ravenings, I doubt that I'm considered a friendly over at TPW either, but I'll not even attempt to post there.
Clearly Viguerie had left the Republican Party, and was not even a party of the Reagan insurgency in 1976.
Ballot Access's revisionary spin In Re: Viguerie-1976 need be noted though:
"In 1976 he (Viguerie) and others tried to organize a campaign for a conservative revolt against the Republican Party, given that the Republican Party had just rejected Ronald Reagan and instead nominated Gerald Ford."
In 1975, Time Magazine identified Viguerie as a Wallace fundraiser, who had fronted Wallace the seed money for the original direct-mailing:
"Mail-Order Presidents", Time Magazine - June 16, 1975
Time Magazine in 1976 stated that Viguerie was an AIP candidate at their upcoming National Convention, and does not even note him as being at the GOP Convention in which Reagan almost beat out the incumbent Ford.
"Coming Out Swinging", Time Magazine, August 30, 1976
But Viguerie has always been light on facts, and heavy on the truthiness.

Pole dancing during intermissions? You're not referring to Michelle Poague's "Glendale Ballet", are you? LOL!

So LFV is in the google top ten search results for "libertarian convention", yet Andrew is still denying our press credentials and giving bullshit excuses for his actions ... but just handing them to you for the asking, for Rational Review, after initially just handing them to Steve for the asking, for TPW?
That really, really, REALLY pisses me off. Goddamn it, I wish I didn't know about this, because now I am absolutely fucking furious.

ElfNinosMom,
Up front, let me know that I'm not trying to be disrespectful to LFV.
Rational Review has been publishing since 2000. Its daily email newsletter goes out directly to more than 3,000 LP and movement subscribers, and has published every non-holiday weekday since December 23rd, 2002 without missing an edition (I believe this morning's was #1,410). We'll break that habit this week when we take a group "vacation" over the convention period. The main web edition of the newsletter is visited by 10,000 unique users each month, and I'm told the ISIL-rebranded version does more traffic than that.
It's not that Rational Review is "better" than LFV (although naturally I love my baby more than I love yours). But it does have a track record, it has niche stats that are pretty good for the LP ... and if Andrew glanced at his media file (assuming the LP keeps such a database), he probably noticed that Rational Review requested, and received, one press pass (but sent three reporters) in 2004 and published a number of articles on the convention both before and after).
I rather expected some static, but I'm not especially surprised I didn't get any. And mi access es su access to the extent I can help LFV.
