oh Gale, that is sad. But you must rid yourself of the idea that it has anything to do with you. MY experience with those types of situations is that the people, like your brother, who walk away are in so much pain they don't know how to handle it. often there is untreated depression involved. It's too bad he is probably missing out on some great hand knit socks!

Gale, don't do that!
My family has a long history of walking out and I must have been a good student as I've done it to both family and friends. Sometimes, it's about making a clean break from a life that was painful or disappointing.
Occasionally, I think of them and I have gotten in touch with one or two.

Oh Gail, you and I talked about this earlier. This tears my heart out and I feel I am going to start crying for you, me... I am wondering why you are talking about this now, on your blog ? Did something happen to make you bring it up ? I am so sorry. Most of us have these types of things going on in our family. Just know, it's NOT always us. Some people/family members are just angry and have to resolve their own issues. I am concerned. Feel free to email me or Ravel me if you want to vent. LUV C...

I am estranged from my brother too. It nearly tore my heart out to let him go.. but over time I've had to. When i get right down to it, there wasn't much to let go of.. some precious memories of him when we were close. But 'that brother' left; he's gone. The new brother? I don't know him.
Make any sense?
Gale, this isn't your thing, it's his. Completely.
Lots of love and empathy,

Gale- It is HIS issue, and I'm sure you have very little to do with it.
