Leave it to that vapid, frothing hate-site the D-Kos. Even when they make a correct assertion, they do so for the wrong reasons.
IF any Americans engaged in actual "torture" defined as "the inflicting of extreme physical pain AND lasting, permanent disability on a subject," then prosecuting that would be a paramount moral objective and it would NOT make it more difficult to do any of the other things the writer of that piece mentioned.
The reason that writer really thinks it would is that he suspects that at least 80% of Americans would be alienated and outraged by such a reckless and wrong-headed prosecution.
President Obama must feel the same way, as he's been against those kinds of prosecutions from the start....and they're right about that. Probably OVER 80% of the American people would be outraged by such an anti-American action.
The author, in question, on that hate-site is supporting the view that "morality isn't important at all," and YOU think that's a "great idea."
Why am I not surprised?
